I don’t think I could have handled to be a fan of either team in that game.

That game was mentioned in the Auburn/Cal game thread on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

I drank a lot of shine because of that game, then proceeded to liberate someone’s pet rabbit that night (dubbed Sir John Hopkins). I like to think he’s still hopping around

To this day, I still can't believe it

Lord knows what I did that night because I couldn't remember what I did after the game

I have never been to a game like that and never will again. Everyone was quiet. No one was celebrating. It was truly like both teams had lost somehow.

I immediately went to the liquor store.

Was one of the worst games I have ever attended in my life. But this was the good old days when you could get 2 upper deck season tix for under $250.

Witnessed this one from east side upper deck. I contemplated not using stairs or elevator on the way down after the game

There is no worse game than the Maine game. None.

I’m still convinced both teams got drunk prior to kickoff

Honestly I thought 3-2 was much worse. The Maine game you just sort of laughed at how pathetic we were.

That’s the kid of game that was so bad you really do remember where you were when it happened. I didn’t watch it cause I was working that night but remember clicking the stat tracker updates. It was rough.

However pathetic the 2004 team was… we should have been able to beat Maine with a team pulled from student body tryouts.

The cops should have arrested both coaches right there and then.

This was such an Auburn way to win a game.

Maine was awful but it came on the heels of the last three years of Jackie which were a total disaster so we were already in bad bad shape going into the Maine game.

3-2 was made worse by the fact that the season before gave us a lot of hope. And State had won at Auburn the year prior, so this game had some hype among the fan base. Losing to LA Tech to open the season removed some of the hype, but people weren’t totally out on Croom until this game.

The 2008 State season is amazing when you consider that State lost to a Derek Dooley LA Tech team and had 37 yards of total offense in the Egg Bowl and neither one of those games were somehow anywhere near the all around horror show that 3-2 was. That’s probably my least favorite State team ever for obvious reasons. Lol.

Instead one of them became a United State senator, somehow.
