And the difference was bad call at the goal line

If only the officiating had been GOTC worthy

But honestly it just made that Jan 9th night that much sweeter.

Alabama/LSU Rorschach Test: is this a completed pass or an interception?

Two inept offenses and an awful kicker. Great battle for sure but neither QB was good that night. Right about the talent on the field. Electric college football atmosphere.

I think the future debate will be which game put more future HoFers into the NFL - 2011 or 2019

The players that stood out to me in the championship game were Smelley & Shelley on offense and Harris, Upshaw & Gentry on defense.

Just wait until 1/9/22 gets here. That'll be quite the anniversary.

Now show when the players are down. You know, when play actually stops in football.

Not even debatable. Interception

I did consider that when I originally posted the picture, but then on the ground doesn’t change the ambiguity much:

Two inept offenses

Bama averaged 34.8 points per game, including the 6 point game against LSU.

LSU averaged 35.7 points per game, including the 9 point game against Bama.

Hardly seem like inept offensives. Really just to outstanding defenses.

Totally not a rival, right?

LSU's efficiency on offense was incredible, as were turnover margin and field position.

LSU? Nope, not for me. I just don't have the hatred for LSU that I have for Auburn and Tennessee.

The national title game from 1/9/12 is still a legendary game for Alabama, though, so why would we forget about it or not recognize the tenth anniversary of it?

I watched BAMA move the ball in the first game and I don't think I've ever seen a more inept attempt to kick field goals in my life as a BAMA fan as that evening. Even though Tiffin at Arkansas came close.

BAMA had the better offense in that one and I knew they were going to punish the purple people in the rematch. And man did they ever. The LSU players were emotionless from the 3rd quarter on. They couldn't get a first down much less actually attempt to kick even a meaningless field goal this time.

No title game has ever been as one-sided, regardless of the score.

Those were two awesome defenses out there. Bama won 27-9 that season. It wasn’t close.
