The Atlantic Coast has many great golf resorts and other stuff to do in comparison to the Gulf Coast but I prefer the beach culture of the Gulf to the Atlantic. Much more laid back and less snobby and nowhere near as redneck as you make it out to be.

I've always loved the Atlantic beaches from growing up in SFL.

I like both but prefer the waves. The beaches as far as sand are prettier on the Gulf side. IDGAF about sand.
The Gulf is too quiet. I don't want to hear a shark about to bite my leg off.

PCB is terrible. if that area was carpet bombed it'd be an improvement. and yea, the atlantic has a bevy of great beaches and I have always grown up Atlantic > Gulf. And idk, i think everyone just rather be at the beach so bitching about the beach gets us closer there?
ETA: waves are big part of why i prefer the atlantic as well. and you nailed it, not much for aesthetics

I've never experienced snobby on the beach. Those snobby bitches don't like sand and stay on the deck of the house.
Why do they call it the redneck riviera? I didn't make that up.
Hey, give me any beach, a cooler of "real" corona in the brown bottles, some limes, maybe a fishing pole, a frisbee and I'm happy.

I said I didn't want to hear them about to bite me.
I've also seen overhead pictures of the sharks here.

Went to the OBX a ton as a kid. I can't imagine how overgrown it's gotten by now.

I'll be taking the clan to Gulf Shores in August and am only packing Aggie gear. Shhhhh. The bride doesn't know that SEC Beach Fest is going on. I'm gonna let it be a surprise. Hope to meet more SEC fans there for some friendly banter.

Atlantic > Gulf Too many rednecks drinking cheap beer on almost all parts of the Gulf until the bend south.
I would rather be amongst a bunch of red necks than the white trash I have encountered on the Atlantic beaches. It seems as if its a walking advertisement for all the tattoo parlors in Florida. My wife and I tend to stay on the gulf side now, St. Pete and Siesta are our preference now.

Where the frick are you people going to see all this white trash on the Atlantic side? Daytona?

Leave it to the rant to try and take an SEC camaraderie thread and turn it into a pissing contest about where the beaches are better...
