Nah, it's really not. It's just a loss. Nothing more, nothing less. How the team responds the rest of the season is all that matters here.

#1 Ranked Alabama just lost to fricking Vanderbilt. I'm sorry it's a little more than that. You've been saying this in multiple threads so whatever. Your opinion is your opinion. However, the majority of your fanbase and 100% of everyone else feels that losing to fricking Vanderbilt when you're ranked #1 is kind of a big deal.
Should Vandy fans also see this as "just a win/nothing more, nothing less"?

A better comparison would be Vandy and the Stephen Garcia-led USC loss
Lulz, this is a massive cope.
That was a ranked matchup with a team that went 9-3 in the regular season and won their division.
Vandy didn't win a single SEC game last year.

Not a gump, but clearly it's Vandy.
Monroe was rebuilding stage. We are currently in the decline.

I will probably say ULM. Vandy is in fact a SEC school that has a QB that is a stud. I guess you can ask Auburn about him as well and maybe LSU players later on in November.
I guess Corndogs can relate, didn't ya'll lose to Troy in that one of us coach's first real year?

Pretty unfair question to Bama considering we got the ability of hindsight behind the ULM game.
The critical difference behind ULM and Vandy is literally everything.
ULM was before the dynasty was kickstarted.
Vandy could signal a blip or descending movement in trajectory.

And now both Georgia and UA have proven they are not unbeatable.
Nor deserving of #1.
So who is #1???????????..............NIL, it has ruined college athletics.

Bama has been winning championships in just about every decade. So there's lots of give a shite when it comes to Bama fans. Turn that sideways and stick it up your candyass.

ULM, not close.
We knew we’d hired a good coach, but we’d been wandering in the wilderness most years since Stallings left. ULM felt like that wasn’t changing anytime soon.
While I didn’t expect Vandy, I did expect to probably lose against South Carolina. We were bound to have a letdown game after beating Georgia. We see it all the time in CFB and the players aren’t afraid of this coaching staff. I’m not real sure players in the portal era are going to be afraid of any coaching staff.
It’s going to be interesting to see how both the players and the coaching staff respond.

It's not meaningless. You're comparing 2024 Vanderbilt to 2010 South Carolina. It's an idiotic comparison.

This loss to Vandy is far far worse. Dabeor inherited a winning team and battle tested QB.
In fact, it's not even fair to compare the two situations.
