Seems as though Georgia, and Florida State are whipping that arse, and Bama is a distant 3rd for recruits in that region.

Could also be that they are tearing it up lately (last few months) and that's fresh on my mind.

My question is, How do you feel about your current hold on the Panhandle, and do you feel your recruiting will take a slight dive with Auburn, Georgia, and Florida State all doing well in recruiting this year from the get-go?

Why ask the question if you already made up your mind as to what the answer to the question is? I'm guessing it's a fail attempt at a flame. When we stop racking up top 10 recruiting classes feel free to make these posts.

The recruiting will never take a dive as long as NS is HC. Let's be realistic here; a top 10 class annually provides the talent. There's enough talent in that region for Bama, AU, UGA, Flor, & FSU to rake in top 10 classes annually.

We've given up all hope on recruiting...this staff clearly just doesn't know how to get it done

Wasn't a flame attempt at all. Was curious to see if you've been trying to raid other regions like the Carolinas or go north.

Never did I mention you would be hurting in recruiting..thats moronic to even assume that. You'll still get most of of the players you want, but it just so happens that Florida State and Georgia are going after most of the players you want..and are having success lately.

D Craig is a great recruiter. FSU has a lot to sell right now. They are doing a great job for sure.

I'm not concerned at all.

UGA has always recruited well

Yeah, having Saban really helped you last year against LSU and the other Tigers

Na cuz we still do really well recruiting nationaly. If i was LSU i would be focusing on TAMU, Tech, and TCU recruiting better in Houston and stealing away guys that have in the past goine to LSU. Not to mention the loss of W. Lyles

I'm not sure what makes people think this. Especially about Georgia. When have they even recruited heavily in the Florida Panhandle and south Alabama?

Never really. The closest we've come is Valdosta. Otherwise we're heavy into Jcksonville, Miami, and Tampa. Travis Blanks was the only guy from the panhandle we were heavy after IIRC

Something tells me that has nothing to do with the thread title.

Historically, Alabama has not had a stranglehold on the Panhandle. It has been much better under Saban and should stay that way. Auburn usually does much better in Mobile and until Trent Pensacola was pretty much all Gators. Saban made a huge impact on Gulf Coast at LSU and the Tigers are still reaping the benefits.
