I would add that these are kids and the environment currently robs them of being kids. This NIL will be a much bigger business than will be advertised. Handlers/agents will be finding every 15/16 yr old kid with potential and start molding them into a marketable commodity/skilled craftsman. That’s not fair and will lead to a generation of missed childhood professional athletes and former athletes. My love of college sports isn’t dying. College sports are dying.
I had a similar discussion recently that posed a question that might apply here. When was the last time the SEC had this many talented teams?

1. Auburn

2-5. Pretty even

Auburn has more depth and unique talents in their frontcourt that separate them and make both their floor and ceiling much higher. They still have stretches on offense where they play wild and out of control, but that's kind of how Pearl's entire frantic scheme operates.

Alabama and Tennessee are both very talented and very schizophrenic. Tennessee is probably a little bit deeper than Alabama.

Kentucky is just kind of unproven at this point. They've played 2 good teams so far (Duke and LSU) and lost both in close, physical games. They're clearly very talented and deep, but we just haven't seen them against enough against good teams yet I don't think to know how good.

LSU is the best defensive team in the country and the worst offensive team in the Top 25.

State is also very talented but just hasn't put it together against the better teams they've played late. If they do, they'll be a pain in the arse. Arkansas is a mess right now but Muss will patch that together and have them formidable soon.

Florida and Texas A&M are playing decent ball and can beat you on any given night as well.

I was going to reply but this is the most accurate summary I have seen regarding secbb to date. I also agree that Arkie will be a very different team by year end. The pieces look there and I believe Muss will get it together.

I couldn’t disagree more.

The only thing to lose was a gator bowl with an opted/covid ridden team.

Gain would be 40 under class men experience. Bowl game road trip experience(That’s a thing). Fans and family get to see one more game. 2.5 million in revenue.

Aggie fans should be upset

Your coach/admin just backed out of a game that didn’t count against you in the grand scheme of things but would have been valuable experience for a lot of young and developing players. IMO this looks like Jimbo didn’t want to lose and sacrificed a post season game for a lot of kids and fans.

My source (an employee in the SEC Office) says it was allegations from Fla State, UF, and Alabama coaches against WW that are the basis for the so-called 11 allegations that WW offered improper benefits. He also said no money changed hands.

Just an observation and a guess. If an employee at the sec office was given access to the SEC allegations, florida state wouldn’t be on it. Schools outside the conference do not give information to other conferences. They just go to the ncaa. The other schools are high click bait guesses that will get a rise out of a fan base. I’m just sayin that is likely bad info. The SEC likes to handle things internally. Any sec school going outside of that would be unusual.
LSU admins are about to look like geniuses. I thought for sure sticking with Wade with all the audio tapes etc was a mistake long term.Turns out the ncaa is defunct or impotent and Lsu knew it already.

There is no cheating anymore. Everything is legal.

College football is gone. It’s the minor league NFL and the teams with the most resources will win every year.

I agree. Perfect fit if they weren’t broke.
I’m not sure who it is but I know it’s not Riley.
Orange Julius’s for everyone.
If LSU wanted Riley, the deal should have been finalized last week.
I can see how Will Wade has ruffled some feathers but I’m not ever going to fault a coach in college basketball for cheating until the NCAA changes a lot of rules. They get paid a great deal of money to win and win quickly in a landscape that is riddled with corruption.

Mullen’ just comes off as self absorbed, entitled and socially awkward individual. Coach least likely to enjoy a beer with kinda vibe.

That contract though...................

If that contract is true. 6 years 4mm per...
I’d expect that to solidify a coach through major sanctions.

You are in the minority as interest nationwide has increased since playoffs were implemented.
Probably Trevor Lawrence. He checks every box for nfl.

Got what right? 4 most deserving teams or 4 best?

One could argue that ND and OU while certainly deserving, were not the best.

OU vs UGA was competitive OU vs bam was competitive

I didn’t think last night was competitive. Jmo but it looked like Bama went to sleep after 1st quarter. Oklahoma as great as they are on offense. Are equally as bad on defense.
