Alabama's kicker is one along with byus kicker and another guy,I forgot. Is bamas kicker that great? I saw this on tiger rant .

quote:

The BYU and Alabama kickers are perfect on the season...they also attempted 8 and 9 (respectively) LESS FG's than York.

York also has as many 50+ makes as the three finalist COMBINED. Alabama's kicker has made a grand total of THREE (3) kicks of 40+ yards all season.

York was 5 of 6 from from 50 +

I'm not trying to say the kickers from bama and byu arent great kickers, but I would have liked to see our kicker get recognized for his spectacular play this season.

That's a fair take. That kick in the fog deserves an ESPY.

I feel like it’s a career award. Last year Rodrigo won it and it was probably the worst of his 4 years. York will probably when it next year or the year after if he keeps it up.

Hasn’t taken a lot of difficult ones though. Cole Tracy was amazing for us but never won the award for that same reason. It’s just kinda inconsistent

Reinhard has had zero kicks with the game on the line. Not a knock on him, but he hasn’t had the opportunity. LSU kicker deserves it more.

I suppose "difficult" is relative depending on which fan base you are talking to.

Oh, so you’ve seen all of Reichard’s kicks and judged their difficulty?

Kicking awards are weird. JK Scott never won the Ray Guy award but I thought he was the best punter in the nation from the time he stepped on campus.

Who scored the most? Our guy kicked about 200 extra points. I will give credit to LSU’s guy for the best single kick of the year

Yeah McPherson led the SEC in FG % his freshman and sophomore years. This year he has missed a few kicks, including the 50 yarder to tie the LSU game. I still think he is one of the best in the country.

Absolutely. That was the most clutch field goal I’ve seen. It was awesome

As for the Groza, sounds like they have a hard choice to make. All three are deserving.

I mean grats to Bama for finally having a kicker who isn't a dumpster fire, but York not only deserves to be a finalist, he deserves to win it period. 6-7 from 50+, the 57 yard bomb game winner over Florida, and 4-4, including a 50 yarder in a downpour against Ole Miss in a tight game.

I know. He won’t win it. Because it’s a career award

Obviously I want the Bama guy to win it, but if it had gone to York I wouldn't think it undeserved at all. He is fantastic.
