You are a UT fan - I understand your need for post term abortions.

You could’ve won mid 2000s Big East with 2 and 3 stars.

Greg Shiano is a good football coach. Always has been.

He’s an average coach at a shitty school and was involved in covering up sundasky. The last part is why he’s not at Tennessee

The upside is Fulmer hired a coach so shitty he was gone in 3 years. Schiano would’ve done enough to linger for 5-6 years in Butch Jones mediocrity.

Which again, says a lot about your supposedly great program.

A certain coach doesn’t want a good coach at UT because he only cares about his glory

Nobody ever says why he would be, or would have been a great hire for us, its always just what he did at Rutgers 15 years ago. Give me a fricking break. It was a terrible hire, exacerbated by the fact that they thought they had Mullen in the bag and when Kelly went to UCLA and Frost went to Nebraska, Florida took him away. All throughout the process they tried to assure us shite was handled, and it was the hire that was going to make or break us for the next 15 years and they just let the Gruden silliness build and build and build without ever saying anything. The fans were right to be frustrated because they did the same exact shite the search before. Y'all don't know shite about shite.

You either hire an elite coach or it doesn’t matter.

The days of Tennessee being able to hire an elite coach are a distant memory. Having a coach who can stop making Tennessee a punchline for a minute might be good? Because these days the only people who want the job either don’t know what asparagus is, or derailed Central Florida and ran to the exit before they could get fired.

The fact that you think Butch Jones is on par with Schiano is the most puzzling part though. The only thing Butch Jones did was take over a program built by Dantonio and Brian Kelly. And he disappointed at that even.

Butch Jones is probably better than Schiano. This is 2021, not 2005.

And anyone in the SEC can hire an elite coach. You just have to hire guys with baggage (Kiffin, Freeze) or get lucky on up and comers (eg take a chance with Chadwell and hope his success translates).

So Schiano, in year 4, would've lost to both Vandy and SCar in 2016? With 36 blue chippers and senior dual threat like Dobbs at QB?

Yes? It's not like they were great that season.

I wonder if he's trolling. Schiano went 11-2 with a team that had a whopping 6 blue chippers on the entire roster. Butch lost to dookie SCar and Vandy teams in year 4 (and the latter cost them a Sugar Bowl spot).

Schiano would have been only slightly better than Butch Jones at Tennessee. They should have hired Freeze.
