Our coach is doing pretty well kinda like Schiano is doing.

You either hire an elite coach or it doesn’t matter. There’s no such thing as hiring a guy to “stabilize the program and roster”. There’s always going to be too much turnover and toxicity around the program when you have to fire someone. That is unless you’re Kentucky and your fan base let’s you rebuild for 10 years.

This is correct. If Schano was winning 8-9 games a year like many here are proclaiming he would be a shoe in to do he would be squarely on the hot seat by this year which would be year 4. Butch had back to back 9 win seasons in year 3 and 4 and was heavily on the hot seat going in to year 5 and obviously totally collapsed under the pressure.

The fan base/media is a huge pressure cooker, sometimes unfairly and over the top, and we have already seen how poorly he deals with criticism/outside adversity in Tampa.

He’s in a great spot with no expectation o4 push back and where he can slowly build it up organically.

UGA is in a golden age run for them. A couple of SEC titles and a national championship 40 years ago. They are behind UT in total wins, winning %, national championships, tied for SEC titles.

Golden Ages aren't 20-25 years long.

In the past 50 years, UGA has won 437 games to UT's 388 and have 20 10 win seasons to UT's 11. It's not close who the better program has been.

Idk about anyone else but I’m extremely impressed with his wins over Temple, Syracuse and Delaware.

Those Rutgers teams we saw before Schiano came back lose to Syracuse and Temple guaranteed. They probably still beat Delaware I guess. Seriously, KANSAS beat them by 6 TDs one year.

Greg Schiano was the collateral damage of a butthurt fan base who somehow convinced themselves John Gruden wanted to coach there. They created faux outrage because they were so disappointed in what they perceived to be their administration’s lack of ability to land Gruden.

This is what really happened in that coaching search. They were so convinced they were getting Gruden that any other name was unacceptable. When Schiano was announced, they were so embarrassed that it wasn't Gruden that they used Schiano's very frail ties (at most) to the Sandusky situation as an excuse to reject the hire. It was really because his name wasn't Jon Gruden though.

That was a prime example of what happens when you let Clay Travis and a bunch of mouthbreathers from Twitter run your coaching search.
