He would have been a great hire for them. So obviously they couldn't hire him

Idk about anyone else but I’m extremely impressed with his wins over Temple, Syracuse and Delaware.

Anyone who can make Rutgers competent is a good coach. Imagine him at UT with good players. Fans ran him off for Pruitt. Lmao

He’s good. I don’t see him ever being elite, but he definitely could have gotten Tennessee on the right track and handed the keys off to a better coach willing to take them.

That's the funniest part. They instead chose a guy with no HC experience who everyone knew was Muschamp 2.0.

Tennessee ran him off. We didn’t run him off for Pruitt though. Fulmer just managed to hire an equally bad coach.

Greg Schiano was the collateral damage of a butthurt fan base who somehow convinced themselves John Gruden wanted to coach there. They created faux outrage because they were so disappointed in what they perceived to be their administration’s lack of ability to land Gruden.

In reality, they should have been upset at the “insiders” and media members who perpetuated the nonsense that Gruden was “the guy.”

That was one of the most pathetic, bizarre sequence of events I’ve ever seen surrounding a college football coaching search.

3-0 at Rutgers - a historically trash team proves he can actually coach. The only time they have ever been relevant is with Schiano coaching.

There’s a good chance they lose 8 of their last 9. They will be underdogs in every game except Illinois and maybe Maryland?

You asked for a shite hire by running off a better coach.

Laughable. Tennessee would’ve been more than happy to land Mullen, but Florida snatched him up at the last minute.

And UT will get blown out by any team with a pulse - what’s your point?

You’re describing Butch Jones, we weren’t any better for dealing with him for 5 years.

Honestly I think a lot them just didnt like the idea of Schiano. Didnt even have a real reason. They already failed on Gruden before butch and Dooley I think.
