He's trying too hard to stand out.

Agreed. He's a douche.

I said earlier that Texas A&M would be a surprise team to be pretty good this coming season

You also said they'd win the West last year, if I remember correctly.

The team will be a lot better than the team Fisher coached last year. I said they will be a pretty good team, but Fisher was the problem. He is the one I thought was a changed man when he hired Bobby Petrino. I was wrong about Fisher. Now he is gone. Elko is the one to get it done that Fisher couldn't do.

Remove "Elko" insert "Franchione", remove Franchione insert "Sherman", remove Sherman insert "Sumlin", remove Sumlin...well you get the idea. Rinse and repeat for infinity.

Edit- I will say their schedule is favorable enough to get them in a 12 team playoff, not sure they have the horses to get past round one...depending on who they draw of course.

Elko impressed me at Duke

Yea 7-5 in the ACC should translate to 7-5 in the SEC

Another offseason - another over-inflated prediction for Tamu.

The schedule the next two years will be by far the easiest we have ever had since joining the league.

Texas A&M have a lot better talent than Duke. Plus, Fisher didn't care about winning but wanted to get fired to collect the huge payout.

10-2 is probably the ceiling with their schedule. is that good enough for a 12 team playoff? guess who the W/L are matters

Nope. Most of us reacted with a very loud "WTF" when the "nationwide coaching search" went 90 miles down 6 and 290.

It literally depends on two things. Can the OL play better under a new coach (this isn't too much of a stretch), and as a result Weigman stays healthy. It is that simple. If those two things happen then we could surprise. If not, Weigman goes down once again and it's an absolute crap shoot.

He and Spears were pretty good on “Thinking Out Loud”

Completely agree, thought McElroy and Spears made a great combo on that CFB Monday show. I also used to look forward to McElroy doing the color on CFB games up until recently; now it seems like he is trying to be the next Herbsteit, and unfortunately he is succeeding at that.

It goes a bit further than that. Tons of questions nobody really has an answer to. Trying to make any predictions right now with A&M is pointless..

Who plays LB? Where is the depth at DT and will it be consistent. Is there anyone that plays like a true starting CB.

The OL absolutely had to improve. Is there any true #1 RB that can both run and pass protect? Where is the 2nd (and 3rd for that matter) in-line TE to match the offense? Are they going to have to run Weigman (god I hope not…) to get consistent yardage in the ground?

What happens in the Spring portal (I expect A&M to land a few on both O and D and lose a few on the DL ) will make a huge impact on this season for A&M in my eyes.

Right now I’m going with 8 wins and see what happens…

LB is actually not an issue this next year. York is expected by the sip rag of all sources to be the best LB in the state

OL will determine the season

DL is deep, and we won't lose any to the portal. They would have left already after the season

RB will be by committee according to the new OC

So we will see. The offense will absolutely be improved because Fisher's offense required a degree in football to run. Defense will be an Elko defense. Let's see how the spring game goes ...
