Not a shocker
FWIW
Gravy for East Coast Sicilians = what you call marinra
Gravy for Southern Scots - Irish = white / brown / red and can include pork
KY real country ham (the kind that goes with beaten biscuits and ages in your basement for a few years) is pretty much Prosciutto ham in Italy. Southern bologna is just thick sliced Mortadella without the fat bits and the nuts.

love it
my limited experience...
different category I know, but this place, Annabella's Pizzeria in Morristown NJ will always be remembered.

an out of the way spot I was lucky to experience with friends years ago, a place out of Moundsville (Wheeling), West Virginia, because it was Pittsburgh Italians less than an hour from Pittsburgh
In New Orleans, I've also basically been told "So here's your takeout, now GTFO" at a place in Metairie with Rocky Marciano pics on the wall.

Lots of places like that in the US, depends on where folks settled off the boat at Ellis Island (or earlier for the old Italians)
I love being Italian because I love to eat. 6 to 8 hours of "grazing" with extended family and friends. No wonder the Sicilians have some of the highest life expectancies in the world!

the Marcello's had I guess 3 restaurant hangouts in the area, two in Metairie (one was the one I got takeout at) and another in Fat City I realized later I lived very close to while there. The third on the West Bank in Avondale
I loved living there. Ate my first Muffaletta about 60 feet across the street from my apartment

The Tyson's in Springdale/Tontitown are obvious Scots-Irish-Etc., but I guarantee you they are huge old friends with tons of Tontitown Italians whose got families there more than a century
That general crew will get Coach Cal in for some food in some exclusive neighborhoods
as an aside, many NWA true Republicans tried to get RINO dumb shite Steve Wommack unseated in the recent primary, voting for a state senator named Penzo who I'm sure is from a long time Tontitown family
we lost 30K to 35K so we'll be sending the RINO back to congress

If you like Catfish then I would recommend Catfish John's on Hudson road in Rogers.

I got nothing against Italians, but a bunch of them opened an Italian joint in my mid-size town in Texas several years ago and my first visit there was kind of disgusting. Not because of the Italian guys running the restaurant, but due to the old horny white women that showed up in droves to drool over those dudes.
You'd see a table of 7 get seated and they'd immediately grab the waiters by the arm and start flirting with them. I swear they were probably grinding on the table legs under the tablecloth.
"Oh honey, ain't chew just the purdiest thing on Earth!"
"Now don't leave us, darlin. Cain't you just stay here and eat with us? Here, sit down next to me!" I got a little sumpthin for ya."
(((the whole table of horny granny's starts laughing))

Not just old women, my old man was Sicilian and women of all ages said he was the total hottie. Sadly I got my looks from the other side of the family tree. At least I was the life of the party and they made me king for Mardi Gras back in the black and white movie days. This is me back in the late 1930's. I was a sexy bastard!
I was the beast who could make 3 backs, not just two!

Any decent rivers up that way? Cal looks like a white water rafting kind of guy.

Screw Italian food in Fayettenam. I'm going to Herman's and hang out with John Daly again! Amazing both times!

Check out Zelli in Springdale. Has tons of hard to find Italian ingredients for cooking, and makes fresh pasta onsite
