Plus UConn just hired David Benedict as AD from Auburn, so there's some ties.

Yes, go ahead and release that toxin into the Auburn program. Not only is it Briles himself, but the media storm that would follow his hiring.

Assuming the second Gus is Rhett? I'm largely in agreement here with you. Additionally, if there is concern that Gus is still on the hot seat going into next season, this is the time to disassociate.

Yeah sorry, mental slip apparently.

But yeah, it's really mutually beneficial for all parties involved for Rhett to move on. Most of us expected it last year tbh

Makes too much sense. With JJ as AD, we will probably some high school coach or promote from within.

I am hoping that Saban hiring a drunk did not open the door for us to hire Briles.

You should.
Of course Auburn has never taken the high ground.
Please refer to Cam Newton and Bruce Pearl. See also, surreptitious meeting behind Tuberville's back with yes, you guessed, that pinnacle of sobriety and class, Bobby Petrino.

I don't think he is getting a job anytime soon after suing Baylor's administration.

When Auburn hires a new offensive coordinator, this much is certain: It will not be former Baylor coach Art Briles. Briles will not be considered for the position because of his role at Baylor in the sexual assaults scandal, a source told ESPN.

Gus is a joke because we won't consider a guy that facilitated the cover up of the rapes of multiple teenage girls? You seem like a real stand up guy.

Btw, enjoy the prolific offenses that Muschamp fields already a worse season than our "joke" has ever managed.

But here's a comforting thought for you: at least it'll never get 56-17 bad again.... mostly because you'll never make the SECCG again, but at least you won't have to get embarrassed on a national stage like that
