Kelly was never a QB coach nor coached QBs

His background was a LB/DB coach and DC.

Ian Book is on the Saints roster and was a 4th round pick back in 2021 and Deshone Kizer was a 2nd round pick back in 2017 and was in the NFL a few years himself.

But if we want to play this game, what QBs did Orgeron coach at Ole Miss before LSU that ended up in the NFL?

Almost like this really weird vague thing doesnt matter.

Kelly isn't a supposed "QB whisperer" or offensive coordinator but I know that both of his last two quarterbacks are on NFL rosters without even checking.

ETA - Jack Coan was an UDFA last year, Ian Book was a 4th round pick, Deshone Kizer was a 2nd round pick IIRC

What happened since then?

2019 - 7 points
2020 - 20 points
2021 - 24 points

Average of 17 points a game and 2/3 games came against the worst LSU teams in the last 2 decades.

Congrats on needing a record amount of overtimes and constant bailing out by the refs to get 74 4 years ago though

To be fair, the offense only scored 13 points in 2020 so the average is actually 14.6 points per game against some of the worst LSU defenses of the modern era.

It’s a shame he wasn’t there in the Sumlin era. Sumlin coached a QB to a Heisman and a first-round selection.

As obsessed as LoSerU fans are about the Aggies, you sure are a stupid bunch when it comes to facts. Mond was recruited by and spent his first season at A&M under Sumlin.

You might need to know how to read first, that might be why you cant find any.

He had three years under Fisher, just one with Sumlin. You going to blame Sumlin for his lack of development?

Johnny Football only had one year under Sumlin. He was a redshirt freshman. He was the first freshman to win the Heisman!!

Sumlin could be the greatest QB coach in CFB history!!!!

You are even dumber than I give you credit for.

Well you didnt put much effort out... Ian Book plays for the Saints

Edit: and DeShone Kizer was a 2nd round draft pick. Not saying he panned out or anything but he's been a "good enough" coach to have 2 of his most recent QB's drafted.

Sumlin did a great job with Manziel, don't know why you are getting excited about it. If he had more time with Mond, he might have made him into something as well.

The fact that the L$U fans start more threads about A&M than Ags do is very telling - rent free!!

And this happens dang near every day!

Watch Mond as a freshman under Sumlin

Watch him progress as a soph-senior under Jimbo

Jimbo took a kid that would have been moved to WR or Safety at Bama, and turned him into an NFL QB (though probably never a starter). Some could say he made the kid millions with his coaching.

PS, before we all say Mond did great yesterday, watch the lowlights from his first series misfiring two wide open TDs. He still has the same problems he always has, and that's probably never going to change.

Most players progress the most between their freshman and sophomore years.

Not sure Jimbo gets all the credit for that as it's pretty normal.

That's excellence for Aggy.

You'll never top that.
