Holy crap they didn't finish ranked in 2007 when they were ranked #2 mid season?

I know you meant c'unt, which he deserves for that asinine comment.... but Count is actually his board nickname. Dude will go in crunching numbers for some irrelevant stat

Looks like no: LINK

They had dropped to 23 before the bowl game and got stomped by Oregon in the Sun Bowl.

But I think it’s obvious they are trying to blame too much on Jimbo because the alternative is admitting the new guy sucks and no one wants to do that in year 2.

I think it's a little of column A, little of column B. That roster was in bad shape before Jimbo was gone, it was clear after the LSU rumors that he was checked out but he wanted a big CHECK to do it... He got it at the right time, as one more year likely would have highlighted all of the problems he was leaving them with.

With that said, Taggart is in over his head at FSU. He's got a self sustaining juggernaut in Clemson in their division now and everyone is recruiting the state of Florida better... While it may be uncomfortable to admit that in year 2 you've got the wrong guy, FSU needs to wake up and not be so quick to give him a free pass or they're going to fall further behind...

Fisher was for all intents and purposes the HC while he was officially "HCIW". Bobby was going on 5 years of not even knowing the players names on the field "dadgum #22 is a special guy" and all that shite. It was actually a great move by the FSU AD, who I am loathe to credit with any success.

Jimbo got all the credibility of a HC on the recruiting trail and 2-3 years worth of on-the-job training, while Bobby took the blame for all the losses.

Then they force out Bobby and the turnaround (after 3 years of struggle) looks like magic. If Jimbo had simply taken over as HC from the beginning, he gets run out of town after 3 years.

Nice narrative, but completely made up. A HCIW is not a HC of any kind and the big decisions in the end still came to Bowden.

Does anyone here really think that Jimbo isn’t going to be the best coach aTm has had in a while?

Head and shoulders over the last three.

LSU fans are just salty because they wanted Jimbo and he dissed them, then he ends up going to A&M and giving them their first win over LSU since they came to the SEC.

He's probably the 3rd best coach in the SEC right now, if not #2.

He's definitely better than anything A&M has had in recent years.

Maybe he's overpaid, and he looks like a bum alcoholic(reminds me of otis at times), but that's about it.

Jimbo can't take all of the blame (or even the majority of it). I called Taggart failing way, way before anyone else. He is just not a good coach. Just talk to USF fans, man. The guy is just a good salesman and nothing more.

Sounds a lot like Obama in his second term as president still blaming Bush.

I fail to see a connection between someone saying he inherited a culture problem as he begins year two and a guy in year five still blaming his predecessor.

Yeah probably. Jimbo obviously is to blame somewhat for how the program was left, but Taggart being a mirage propped up by Cristobal is why they will face probably a decade of being irrelevant.

I mean look at the recruiting rankings of Jimbo's last few classes there and look at the talent nearby. If Taggart can't get a top 5 class year one despite being hired for his recruiting chops them you know that tenure is a failure.

The real problem with FSU is the same lack of money to get Jimbo better facilities means they can't afford Taggart's buyout before the end of year 3.

This crap again? Jimbo left that program in good enough shape to be a total dumpster fire. They need to fire the coach and start over.

A blind toddler could see that Fisher fricked FSU.

He did decidedly worse than McElwain with a better roster. Florida ranked 15th on the Team Talent Composite for 2015. Florida State ranked 5th in 2018.

He held a 43 - 25 blue chip advantage over McElwain and still couldn't bowl. That is gonna be really hard to blame on Jimbo.

Let's just face it: He's a decent G5 coach who got lucky and kept stumbling into promotions. Building up a G5 team is so much easier than running a P5 team.

FSU fricked FSU by hiring Taggart. Anyone paying attention could see that Taggart is just a fricking terrible coach. Just watch his drills that they post on FSU Twitter and you'll see he has no goddamn clue as to what he's doing.
