This is a little primer they did at the beginning of last season.

Not sure if you are heading back to Orlando after the game, because that is going to suck if you are. I would tell you just to hang out on University north of the stadium, but since you have kids and are commuting I am guessing you are not going to be tailgating all day.

You could stop by Hogtown.

Torchy’s is a good chain. And Layne’s has some outstanding chicken fingers.

going to Spurrier's restaurant might be pretty fun.

The lowdown on Gainesville pizza.

If you are wanting to be more like a local, take the kids to Flaco's for a Cuban sandwich and then swing by Sweet Dreams for some ice cream.

Spurrier's is great, but a little more upscale, and you might want to hit the Celebration Pointe area first as it is right off I-75 and Archer Rd where you will probably enter Gainesville. Once you get near the stadium you will not want to go back to that area until you are leaving.

I would get to the stadium area early and catch the Gator walk, and there also might be a Volleyball game before the football game, which is right next door to the Swamp.

If you’re staying in Orlando definitely go to Charley’s steakhouse.

This. One of the better all-time meals I've ever had.

I’ll make sure to throw piss balloons at you.

Oh wait, I thought I was an LSU fan for a minute.

You’ll enjoy yourself quite a bit in Gainesville. Definitely plan to arrive early as traffic coming in can be awful. You may even want to get off the interstate at Micanopy and take 441 up, as that goes right by campus.

Ichetucknee Springs Is a good place to cool off on a tube down the river. The Ale House used to be a good place for food and beer. Leave Orlando as soon as possible.

Mosquito repellent. Extra deodorant. Penicillin. And now probably Bud Light to fit in.

What?

There are tons of independent bars and restaurants near the stadium?

There are tons of chains out by the interstate. Just like any college town.

You people are weird.

To the OP, is there a specific food you are looking for?

The Swamp restaurant moved to a new location and while not 5 star they have a good menu for a guy and a couple of kids. Get there early as it will be busy.
