For me, the game against La. Tech had a NFL preseason game feel to it.
I swear at times it felt like CBK was using the game to tinker with the offense to get ready for the SEC gauntlet. Like he didn't care how it looked as long as we ended up with a W and some wrinkles got ironed out.
Not sure that happened, though.
And to all the "BUT NUSS REFUSED TO RUN, PAAWWWL!!" morons, why the hell would Kelly take a chance of Nuss getting lit up and hurt in a meaningless game? The offense was meh, but the D played lights out and the game was never in doubt. This was Tech's Super Bowl and they would have gladly tried to decleat Nuss into oblivion if given the chance.
Whatever the reason, I hope Kelly got something useful out of that mediocre offensive play to makes up for losing two indispensable players.

Happy to be 2-0. Very happy to beat kU. True validation on Sep 20 vs. Gamecocks if we prevail.
Pribula has answered any skeptics. Hardy et al will offset loss of Lacy. Coleman will be as productive as Luther. Olugbodie, Josh Manning, Marquis Johnson will pick up the slack as an “Option B” from Theo Weiss. Norfleet becoming areal problem for defenses. Defense is solid.
Question (for most teams in the SEC this year) is whether the strength of the programs up and down the list will serve to cannibalize one of the Playoff spots from a worthy team.

Those joke games don't mean anything though.

Defense is good, offense seems above average. Special teams are really, really bad.

Does mean a bit when a joke team pushes your OL’s sh*t in.
Our starting C will be same guy as last year & he looks exactly the same.
We’ll have to gut out a defensive battle, it won’t be a pretty game to watch. We’re not a real contender until/unless we get Moore back.

The Clemson game made it look like there could be some weaknesses but your defense surprised me how good they played.

Defense is the real deal. That’s why I think we grit one out at home.
Offense was okay vs Clemson, but the difference was Braelin Moore was lined up at center & is out with a high ankle sprain after first snap vs LaTech.
If they’re smart they’ll tightrope it & we might have him back for ole miss.
The OL is a complete joke without him. Expect a bunch of cute reverses & pulling everything you can imagine out of a hat from LSU attempting to manufacture some sort of offense.

Special teams need a lot of work.
Blaylock and Barnes could take some pressure off Mateer. He's gonna get rocked hard eventually.
Defense will only get better and that's crazy. Venables is a master level DC.

Shitty coaching, bipolar team
One series they play like a top 5 team the next 3 they look like the JV team!!
We are an incomplete team talent wise in year 2!
8-4 would be considered a good season with the team and coaches that we have!
In other words…..thanks for nothing!!

Crazier things have happened. Y’all will also need to find a way to score points though.
It’s gonna be some ugly football lol.

Defense-Better than I expected but not as good as last year.
Offense - I expected to be better but they have not looked very good.
Running game is bad. Offensive line is terrible.
Offense could be great with Sellers but Mike Shula is killing his potential by trying to keep him in the pocket and not letting him play his game, If he doesn't change this approach we will be lucky to win 7 or 8 games,

Austin Simmons needs to stop turning the ball over. He’s thrown 4 interceptions in the first quarter of our two games this year. Otherwise, he’s been fine.
Our running game is really good. Kewan Lacey is averaging over 120 yards per game and roughly 5 yards per carry.
Receivers are very good. Harrison Wallace and Deuce Alexander are speedsters that have been Simmons’ favorite targets.
OL has been good in run block, iffy in pass block. I’ll take it, our OL wasn’t good at either last season.
Our front seven is deep and talented. We put a lot of pressure on Calzada yesterday and ended up getting two sacks and a few other TFL.
Secondary has been a pleasant surprise so far. Antonio Kite has been a very good corner and flashed in big ways yesterday.
We have an elite punter and kicker
I think the biggest thing for us going forward is not turning the ball over. If we don’t turn the ball over, we likely would have scored 40+ on the road at Kentucky yesterday. Still found a way to score 30 despite being putrid on offense in the first quarter.
Defense overall - very happy so far. We only allowed 20 points despite Kentucky starting two drives inside our 35 yard line. On drives that started in Kentucky territory, we only allowed 10 points. Can’t complain.
8 wins still seems reasonable. I’m less confident about the Oklahoma and Mississippi State road games, but more confident about the South Carolina and Florida home games after their performances yesterday. Lot of football left to be played, good luck to everyone

Cole Cubelic made a prediction that Georgia will face Oklahoma in the SECCG.
From what I have seen over the first two weeks, I think he is spot on.
It will be difficult to score more than 20 points against both the Georgia and Oklahoma defenses.

Is #79 the same #79 Center that played against UF last season?
