the game was in Dallas, or Nashville, I could see LSU fans traveling with 50K+. Atlanta is a full blown trip so it isn't cheap.
Why? Nashville and Dallas are both longer drives from NO and Dallas is slighter shorter from Baton Rouge.

The last two years, the get in price was around $400.
The last two years you had two schools involved within two hours of the stadium.

but I never realized LSU fans were so poor.
LSU fans travel as well as any team in the SEC not named UGA.
LSU sent somewhere between 25,000-30,000 to Austin, most of which just went for the party. They completely took over Vandy’s stadium In Nashville two weeks later.
With the potential for a return trip to Atlanta (or Phoenix) in a few weeks and another game in New Orleans, it’s not outrageous to think that many fans aren’t going to book a trip for the SEC title game two weeks away from Christmas. Just a thought.

You do know that the stadium will be 70/30 UGA. Looks like LSU fans think they're going to win so they're saving up for the playoff trip.
This, tickets that are being re-released are from LSU’s allotment. Talking about it on local radio here in Atlanta. 80-20 UGA

6,200 tickets are meant to go to select PSL holders as per the 10 year agreement the SEC signed with Benz.
I don't know of any PSL holders that have
access to tickets.Im not sure how they choose the "select"group.I was told flat out that I wouldn't get access to the SECCG. 6k is still a pretty small percentage of the PSL's.Maybe it's club level folks.

You think that's bad I just had to pay $680 for two Elton John tickets for my wife for her birthday. And they are not even good seats.

I think the biggest issue is LSU fans knowing that they're in the playoffs barring disaster and saving up for those tickets instead.

LSU will bring plenty but many LSU fans are Saints fans and I know several who passed on Atlanta for the Saints / SF game. Thats a big late season game. Falcon fans wouldn’t understand.

PSL Holders
1,000 lower-level club seats to “VVIP” PSL holders and 5,200 seats in unspecified locations to other club-seat PSL holders..now what they actually do with them who knows.

I think it’s more about LSU fans are expecting to win and being the #2 seed and a trip to Phoenix. I would bet that LSU will have 2x as many fans in pheonix than in Atlanta for sec champ game!!
