Fromm plays his best game of his career
I dont think we need that. Just play like he has the past 3 games at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Turnovers
That definitely helps. But we can win the field position battle and do just as well. Special teams could be huge and negate a need for turnovers. Camarda has played well punting as of late.

Defense
I dont think we need to shut down LSU. But definitely tighten up in the redzone. Force field goals. Force Coach O to be too aggressive (he tried a lot of 4th downs against us last season and hit on them. We might be able to take advantage if LSU is too aggressive and underestimates how strong our front 4 and front 7 is).
quote:
Run the ball and control the clock
We need success running the ball. 3 and outs will kill our defense (even if the defense looks great... dont give the LSU offense enough chances to find something that works).
I wonder what kind of a lead that we need in the 4th quarter to hold off a late game push from the LSU offense. 4 down territory makes a lot of passing offenses dangerous. Especially with a mobile QB. I know LSU doesn't believe it, but we have been a good 2 minute drill offense ourselves. We've stolen a lot of points late in a half.

Offense
Shorten the game with the strong running game
Get to manageable 3rd down situations and convert
Fromm plays as well as he did the past two trips in Atlanta
Defense
Pass rush
Pass rush
Pass rush
Georgia has a great secondary but Burrow is one of the veteran QBs who is willing to stay in the pocket and let it go when he has the right read.
Special teams
Punter needs to have a flawless game like in Auburn

Georgia will have to play damn near perfect! LSU has to have some mishaps, and Georgia get all the breaks.
Fromm must hit every wide open receiver, if any, and some that are going to be covered up if the run game is stalled.

sorry I can't tell you the fricking 3rd down percentage facing the east stands with less than 4 yards to go against our nickel package
I didnt ask for that. Apparently you cant tell me any fricking reason as to why UGA will limit LSU.

Didn't realize I needed all the statistical answers to feel good about a top 3 national defense.
I mean....thats basically what a someone who doesnt watch fricking games would say. You have a Stephen A. Smith level understanding.
I dont think its wild for you to go "i think we can limit 1st and 2nd down success and hold them to 35% conversion percentage...well below their season average, thats how i see us stopping them"
I mean how else are you going to stop LSU? You just going to show up as the "Top 3 National Defense" and LSU is going to kneel and punt the ball?

Establish the run game early and often.
Mix up the calls to keep the defense from stacking the box every down.
Control the clock to keep Burrow limited.
Try to make LSU one dimensional to the best they can.
Set up a spy on Burrow to keep him contained. Burrow seems at his best when he's out of the pocket.
Put Burrow on his arse as many times as you can.
Try to throw him off his game even if it's just a little
Play very disciplined football no stupid penalties.
No turnovers, LSU is far too good on offense to be giving them extra plays
Limit the explosive plays.

Fromm go 70%, I don't care if it's dinks and dunks, just keep the chains moving on a stacked box.
And no turnovers.
If that happens, UGA wins by more than a score.
Oh so we went to Fantasyland
Well Matthieu, Peterson, White, and Dorsey will be dominant in this game

1) Utilize the "mush rush" to get to Burrow. Keeping him in the pocket AND uncomfortable at the same time is key to defending him. He's great at creating on-the-fly and the LSU receivers are awesome at the scramble drill. The pass rush must stay disciplined by keeping their lanes, and not overshooting the drop.
2) Keep CEH bottled up. He's certainly going to get some yardage, but don't let him break the big ones. He averages ~2.5 carries per game of longer than 10 yards. Hold him to one or less.
3) Continue to tackle well in space. UGA has been a very good tackling team all year. It's even more important against LSU as their guys don't go down easily.
4) Keep the chains moving by any means necessary. Three and outs will be killer for the defense, so find a way to convert at least 40% on third downs.
5) Involve the RBs in the passing game especially in the first half to help mitigate the loss of Cager and Pickens. Swift and Herrien both have great hands, and this seems like the perfect time to let James Cook get some more action.

Run the ball, stop the run, win turnover margin.
ETA: This sounds very simplistic and straight out of a 1960s playbook, but it still holds true. Unless you're playing an option team who simply doesn't throw, he who runs the ball best usually wins football games.

run the ball effectively and slow down the vertical passing game.
How is UGA running the ball going to slow down LSU passing? That just doesn't make any sense.
UGA can go on a 10-minute drive, kick a FG, give the ball back to LSU and they can score a TD in 2 minutes. How has UGA's 10-minute drive slowed LSU down in any way? The way to slow LSU down, it seems, is to drop 8 and get pressure with 3.

Several, long (99 yard), sustained drives that all result in TDs and hope we throw a bunch in INT and fail to complete drives.

Sustain drives to keep burrow off the field...
Get big stops and negative plays when he is on the field.

How has UGA's 10-minute drive slowed LSU down in any way?
Because it limits the total number of possessions. So let's say for examples sake that:
UGA TD - 10 mins
LSU TD - 2 mins
UGA TD - 10 mins
LSU TD - 2 mins
UGA TD - 6 mins (end of half)
See? Just by the fact of having long possessions UGA limited LSU to 14 points in the first half despite LSU scoring quickly when they have the ball.
*** This, of course, is an extreme example that is only being used for illustrative purposes.

Stop the pass by blitzing and stunting every play.

They have to run the ball, and keep LSU offense off the field.
