#2 rated freshman WR (behind Pickens) last season per PFF. Hopefully he's able to recover and have the career that was panning out

Blaylock was the 2nd highest rated WR recruit that UGA has signed the past 10 years... behind Pickens.

I hate what this does for his NFL prospects. It is going to be very tough to maximize that first signing bonus with 2 ACLs on the same knee.

Think Burton sees some pt now? I wasn't happy when he flipped to UGA, but it made sense and I hope he does great there

Reports out of practice was that there was a small chance he starts, and that was before Blaylock tore his ACL.

He was listed as the top performing freshman so far.

Charles Mann played an entire season on a torn ACL. Aaron Murray finished a scoring drive on one.

People do things all the time on torn ACLs before their scheduled surgery date.

Philip Rivers played the 2007 AFCCG on one. He had even less mobility than usual and was in tremendous pain.

I hate this for Blaylock. That kid is extremely talented and would thrive in an offense that's expected to feature more downfield passing.

I wonder if he can simply opt out and not have to burn a redshirt

It does happen more than ever because they players are bigger and faster, too much torque and pressure on the ligaments and tendons.

It’s a redshirt year for everyone right?

I'm pretty sure if you opt out or your season gets cancelled, everyone just resets next year. I don't think anyone has to burn a redshirt for that. But if you play the season, I'm pretty certain it counts against your eligibility

No. This year is a freebie for everyone.

The question which is still unanswered pertains to specifics on scholarship caps for 2021 (85? 85 plus 5th/6th year players?)

The only advantages to the timing is that there won't be any question about him getting a medical red shirt for the entire season and he will have more recovery time for the 2021 season. Regardless...it sucks for the kid. Hope that he has a successful procedure and complete recovery.

Prayers to him. It’s a good thing you guys brought in that sick WR class last year.

Yes it did and a lot of people, inside and outside of the organization, blamed it on Scott Cochran.

Well, Cochran left and guess where he is?...

Now, mind you he is not named the S&C coach but we know!

Don't be a fricking douche in a thread about player getting a season ending injury.

I'm sorry he got hurt, the kid went to the same HS as my kids, Walton.

But all you GA fans beat us up for years about Cochran and how he was responsible for all our preseason injuries, You didn't care about our players, all you did was trash on us and Cochran. Then when he left Bama you all were dancing in streets like you won the NC, ( of course most of you wouldn't remember it because you weren't even born back then), and now that the shoe is on the other foot, you start whining!
Typical GA Fan!

You are confusing UGA fans with someone else.

UGA fans tried to pull Cochran to Athens back in 2016. We failed. Tried again this year and succeeded at a promotion. Are you certain it wasn't LSU fans badgering you over injuries? This is the secrant. You play them every year.

Dawg fans that I know have always been respectful about Cochran. Haven't you seen the lengths that we have gone to bring him on board?

Uh, that was bama people blaming him, and now he isn’t a S&C guy anywhere, making your point even more dumb.
