I think the magic number is 30. Bama needs 30, they'll win. UGA holds them to less than 30, I like our chances.

The SECCG really came down to seemingly that chain of events where Bryce recovered the fumble, Bama scored, and then scored again after the half. UGA defense played fairly well outside of the 2nd quarter other than 1 throw to Williams in the 3rd quarter.

Just gotta limit the damage when those plays happen. Can't be 67, 55 yard bombs.

Bama may very well win, but it won't be the arse whipp'n we say in the SECC game.

I remember us saying the same thing before 1/9/12.

I know you're trolling here but you know both teams played an outlier game on 1/9. If you don't see that and assume Bama blows out UGA again you simply don't know much about sports.

However, Bennett can't make great throws consistently either.

I agree, but he doesn't have to throw dimes. The Bama DBs will PI especially if you consistently attack them.

Stet needs to pass just enough to open rush yards and check down catches for the backs. Cook and Mcintosh are particularly dangerous there.

Vs Michigan they threw those check down passes to the backs more than I've ever seen which would be really effective vs Bama.

Not sure about that- UM's LB group was their weakest position group by far and exploiting that was a big part of our plan. We simply won't have the same 1 v 1 mismatch vs Bama.

I'm going to go with the low-IQ take and say UGA is the one who just got shite rubbed on their face in the SECCG and is ready for redemption and will play their best game of the year.

Bryce had several big plays passing when Georgia blitzed, one of them being when they brought 6 defenders.

Not really. All 3 of his TD passes and the 40 yard throw to Metchie were on plays when Georgia sent only 4 guys. Some of those plays they had a QB spy but he wasn’t pass rushing obviously.

You can call it an outlier game if you like, but reality was that Saban had them ready and there was nothing we could have done about it. I'm expecting the same in the NC. Georgia should win it based on personnel matching but Saban will have his players prepared and will have a master game plan ready. Advantage Saban by 10 points.

Alabama matches up very well with Georgia.

Bama's strength on offense is Georgia's weakness defense.

Georgia's strength on offense is Bama's strength on defense.

Georgia doesn't have a QB that has shown in two games he can take advantage of Bama's weakness on defense.

Well then...Bryce should just hand over his Heisman.

I think the biggest thing is it's hard to say if it was an outlier game for Georgia's defense or not because they still haven't played another passing attack that can attack them in the way Alabama could. Michigan was much more similar to teams they shutdown in the regular season that relied on the run game to set up the pass game than Alabama, so it's really hard to take much away from that game and apply it to the game on Monday.

I have a feeling that they both (a) played a bad SECCG in general and (b) still have flaws that can be exploited in the pass game. The question is if a better version of their pass defense is enough to win the game. I think that pretty clearly depends on all the other stuff.

So, in conclusion

Bowers, Cook and Burton (underrated imo) are all dynamic play makers and genuinely scare me.

If Cook has north of 120 yards from scrimmage I don't see a way for Bama to win. Because if he is doing well, that means other weapons are going to have to be single covered. And they're going to cause damage. Bama can't let this kid feast.

Bama fans have forgotten about Pickens. Bama DBs can't cover Pickens, Bowers, AD, Burton, or McConkey with lone coverage consistently

If only BAMA & UGA could've played a month ago to see if you're right.

Roll double coverage to Williams often and play man coverage. Blitz often. See what happens.

From your lips to Gods ear and hope this plays out.....if so Bama in a blowout by halftime

If Young can do that again, Bama should have no trouble winning the NC.

I watched every defensive snap for UGA vs Bama. Ringo and Wyatt were the only guys that earned a positive grade. The bama oline played their best while UGA dline played their worst. I'd expect a median for both this game. Ringo lines up best with Williams. Other than Williams, I feel fairly confident the other DBs can keep their other WRs in check. Bama fans have forgotten about Pickens. Bama DBs can't cover Pickens, Bowers, AD, Burton, or McConkey with lone coverage consistently. Robinson being healthy probably is a negative for Bama. They should keep it uptempo start to finish until UGA has figured a way to slow it down. More rushing plays only helps this UGA defense imo. Young's mobility is the other deciding factor

That’s a pretty good assessment. I wasn’t thinking about the temptation to run more with BRob healthy and how that could play into Georgia’s strength. Interesting take. Hopefully we will stay as aggressive as we did the first game.
