Straws, be honest - it moved during the first half of the UGA/Arkansas game didn't it?

Maybe because UGA had a huge roster advantage in the late 3rd and 4th qrt that wasn’t present in the 1st half. Arky was gassed and used up when UGA suddenly got good.

God you're clueless.

"Suddenly got good" because personnel changes were made at the OL and the obvious QB switch and not having 75+ yards in penalties in the 2nd half helped.

If you are talking sec football, our first qb up absolutely shite himself. Bad. As well as the rest of the o while he was in there.

I can't ignore the fact you've yet to see this kid play anyone BUT Arkansas. I can't fault your enthusiasm but, damn, you're questions are so far from answered when it comes to being a factor.

Penalties certainly hurt Georgia a lot early. Our lack of depth was accentuated because we were missing some injured players on defense. We'll get some of them back this weekend.

Mathis struggled to pass the ball so naturally Arkansas stacked the box. Once Bennett came in and started completing passes Arkansas was forced to change things up which allowed for the run game to open up as well.

This is pretty simple stuff.

A lot of the rushing stats are skewed by snapping issues and QB play.

There were 2 bad snaps, 2 sacks, and 2 scrambles out of bounds for loss (mathis just before time expired) that net negative 49 yards on the ground.

6 "runs" for negative 49 yards has a way of skewing the game totals.

I get it. When UGA shuts Texas A&M down for negative yards rushing, it is a lot of the same reasons. The 2 bad snaps, 2 sacks, and 2 scrambles to the sidelines happened. But they make the running game a little bleaker than it needs to be.

Especially considering the improvements with personnel changes and more outside runs in the second half.

That is why you play 4 qtrs, no one cares if Arky was up by 100, they lost by 4 scores.

UGA imposed their will and ultimately their skills advantage.

Georgia fans are literally the only fans who think:

"Yeah, we started out coaching them. We were just playing 6d chess."
Where does that poster even say that we started out coaching them. It’s a fact once Stetson got in the Arkansas defense relaxed. It wasn’t simply they gave out and that just happened to occur right when we swapped quarterbacks.

Dude y’all ran up the score in the last couple minutes of the 3rd and the 4th quarter.

Actually it was the last 9 1/2 minutes of the 3rd and the 4th quarter, however these points are still valid.

I do think Arkansas played us very well. Was it because we are not as good as we thought, or maybe Arkansas is better thanmany thought? Maybe Pittman had them playing way up? I don't know.

It has me concerned, though.

I also think some of the Georgia fasn points are valid, too.

Time after time we shot ourselves in the foot with penalties and poor play at the QB position. Mathis made some very questionable decisions. He ran at times when he should have thrown the ball away. he kept the ball when he should handed it off. Could be he is just rusty as the LSU fan said. He might not be ready at all. Or maybe it was jitters from his first game.

I don't know. But the truth lies somewhere in between. We are better than we showed Saturday, but not as great as some others think.

As for the running game? We had some bad play calls....but an inexperienced QB did not or could not check out of them. We'll know more when we settle on a QB and get more confident in the offensive scheme.
