It's not an illegal chop block unless the defender is already engaged with another player, or the blocker comes from a blind side.

Play GT every year and you learn the finer points of legal vs illegal chop blocking.

My favorite defensive lineman ever (Glenn dorsey) was never the same after playing aubie and getting taken out. He was a freak and a monster he continued the game and season but was never the same. It limited his nfl impact and he always had knee problems.

That is a true chop block. A defender is engaged high in blocking straight up with someone then another comes in out of nowhere and hits them low. Yesterday was the inverse of that. Our OL went low on tbe DL (perfectly legal) and as tbe lineman was coming through that cleveland engaged him high.

It was against the rules but it wasn't intentional or malicious, unlike the chaz ramsey play which was simply dirty as all hell
