UGA claims three consensus national championships (1942, 1980 and 2021); the AP and Coaches Polls have each voted the Bulldogs the national champion twice (1980 and 2021); Georgia has also been named the National Champion by at least one polling authority in four other seasons (1920, 1927, 1946 and 1968).

So... 2 national championships.

I can dig it. By that same standard, GT hasnt ever been ranked #1 (regular season and post season).

This thread is a clear example of what happens when you no longer have 1980, and are broken over it.

IRL, they actually did. Some time ago. I can't know for sure, but I'd say the Dawgs have essentially been ahead since 2007.

Laugh it up furball. Pretty sure we will tie your 4 Nattys before you ever come close to winning a 5th.

Try playing Bama every year ! Georgia was gifted to play in the SEC East. O don’t conveniently forget the last few butt swooping you took from LSU to boot”.

One would have to seriously argue that 2 more Heisman Trophies far outweighs 3 additional total wins. So they may have surpassed Tennessee.

Tennessee has more Heisman Runner-Ups (4) without having a winner than any FBS program.
