Also, my entire statement was just that Michigan has more wins and conference championships than Alabama which is fact so not sure what you're so worked up about

While Michigan has more wins (for now) and conference titles (easier conference) here is what you said:

"I said Alabama and Michigan are on the same tier and you reply with:

quote:
Alabama has won way more national titles than Michigan since 1900. In fact, Alabama has won more national titles than any team since 1900

LINK
So you're stating that Alabama and Michigan aren't on the same level because of Bama's national championships despite Michigan having both more all time wins and more conference titles than Alabama."

Alabama and Michigan use to be on the same tier, they are not now.

Like I showed you

On the field Michigan has 962 wins, Alabama has 937
and this is counting Michigan's club team
Michigan started in 1879, Alabama in 1892
If you count where Michigan was a team then the record is
Michigan 938, Alabama 937
(By the way, that is going to change before the season ends)

LINK

Last 2 National Titles won by
Michigan - 1997, 1948
Alabama- 2017, 2015

Michigan has 11 NC, Alabama 17

Michigan has a losing Bowl record
Alabama is tops in bowl wins

The Big Ten is easier to win (2 of the top 13 schools in wins, I am not counting Neb, and PSU as they are late comers), the SEC is the toughest conference (5 of the top 13 schools)

Like I said, you suck at research

How do you care so much?

Please tell me so maybe I can start caring more.

I've watched maybe 2 games this year. Watch some highlights though. Hard to commit 3 hours to the sport now

One of my hobbies is to fuss, cuss and discuss college football.

I have defended the SEC and Alabama for years on line, so I have gained quite a bit of knowledge about what is what and where to find it. I even pulled for Auburn to win the NC in 2010 (after they beat Alabama) so the streak could continue.

Believe it or not, this is relaxing for me.

As I've said previously in the topic, you're butting into a conversation in which you have no idea what was even going on.

By BLG's standards, Michigan and Alabama are on the same tier. You're trying to argue that they aren't when it was all subject to BLG's standards.

The entire point was that BLG's standards suck as they'd put Michigan and Alabama on the same tier.

You share a state with a team with 15 Titles and Auburn has two. How does Alabama get 15 and Auburn only has two. maybe Auburn is the one underachieving?

Nah. Still Georgia.

actually, what I said was that since Michigan has won more games than any other team, if you stretch it you might call them peers with Notre Dame and Alabama. I don't think I ever even said a thing about tiers. The whole point, before you or another LSU fan starting trying to spin away from it, is that UGA (LSU fan started the thread to belittle UGA) and UT have won more games and more SEC titles than LSU but LSU has won more national titles. Considering all 3 factors, total wins, total SEC titles, and total national titles, those 3 teams are peers, same as Notre Dame and Alabama are peers in spite of the fact that Alabama has won more national titles. As noted, since Michigan has won more games than any other team, including Alabama, you can call them peers with Alabama and Notre Dame if you want to, though they haven't won near as many national titles as Notre Dame and Alabama in the poll era.

Now try to spin it some more because that's what you do.

Right and then I said Michigan and Alabama were peers because Michigan has more all time wins and more conference titles, but Alabama has more national titles.

You stated that your criteria was all time wins, conference titles, and national titles, Michigan leads Alabama in 2 of your 3 indicators.

Its the same as your Georgia-Tennessee-LSU argument.

how many times do you want me to say that I don't care if Michigan is considered peers with Alabama and Notre Dame? This will be the 3rd time at least.

If this is all you have to do on Thanksgiving Day, it's kind of sad.

more conference titles

Conference titles are a joke. If LSU played in the Sunbelt, they would run away with the conference titles. IT is the same with Oklahoma and Michigan. If you only really have one other team that competes with you, then winning the title is not that hard.

The SEC has 5 of the top 13 teams in wins, so winning the SEC is far and above harder. It is also the reason (IMHO) that the SEC has won so many NC over the years, tougher competition

Nah. Auburn. I mean in 1957 when Auburn won their first National Championship they were on probation for paying players.

In 2010 when they won their second ever National Championship they were under investigation for paying players.

In summery, it would appear as if,,,if Auburn did not pay players they would have zero national Championships.

Michigan has one 12 win season in their entire history. They would get my vote for that title.

Texas A&M has one top five finish in the last 63 years. They have to be #1 for the historically most underachieving football program.
