The '19 and '20 teams will go a combined 30-0.

I'm not really worried. I feel pretty confident we're going to win.

Not quite. I expect us to be in the mix under kirby but I'm not sure about '18. I think '19 and onwards when these recruiting classes start coming up is when we'll be a mainstay but I just think we'll lose too much on defense after this year.

Also saban had already won a title and was a proven coach while kirby has been a hc for 2 years.

Fromm's junior/senior year(s) should be good for y'all.

I take nothing for granted and each year can stand on its own. I agree that there is some luck involved but there is a heck a lot of determination and doing thing right to develop consistency. Based on what I have seen, I think Kirby is our guy and he fits the bill. I would love to win Monday but if not, I expect a NC within 5 years.

Bottom line is we have a ticket to the dance this year, lets make it happen.

I think next year you are still in contention. 2019 UF will be substantially better that game will be massive. Next year UF and Tenn rebuild. So it's highly unlikely either challenges you. South Carolina will try but just don't see them being able to topple you. I'd think 2018 Georgia has every bit as good a chance as 2019, just because of the division alone.

The future is very bright, win or lose. If it's not this year, it's coming soon.

UGA has a media member who has built a good portion of his daily podcast on hyping up the UGA vs Florida cocktail party. While I disagree with his assessment that this game determines the division champ (UGA has won the division several times under richt despite losing to UF), I agree that these are the two most likely teams to fight for the division and the winner of the cocktail party has the biggest edge on the division.

In the event of a Bama loss, UGA beware. That many deranged Bama fans in Georgia when they lose would burn it to the ground. Oh, and expect Saban to be on the phone with the NCAA for rule changes and claiming Smart cheated.

The UGA Florida rivalry is kind of odd. We've both been up and down and it has only a few times seen both programs on top during division play. Had some good years. 2001-2003, 2007-2009, 2012. Generally seems one program is unsettled though. Would be nice to see it be a year in blood bath like Tenn vs UF was or Georgia vs Auburn has been many times. Would be great for an already incredibly big rivalry game.

We certainly have a lot of catching up to do though. Georgia is already there, UF has to fix a lot.

The events that have transpired at Georgia over the course of 2 years make me wonder just how much of Bama’s recruiting machine Kirby actually was.

This may turn out to be the biggest factor in play for the forseeable future. Alabama will still get their share of recruits because of just being Bama, but was Kirby the secret ingredient that churned out all those #1 classes?

Think about it. This is the first time since 2010 that Bama won't finish #1 in the 24/7 Composite rankings. If Georgia gets another #1 class in '19 I think we all have to agree he was the straw stirring the drink for Bama's unreal run of top rated classes.

Outside of Auburn, I can’t think of another team I love to see fail than Florida. However, it’s good for the SEC and CF when both teams are competitive. There is no doubt in my mind that Florida will back back sooner than later.

The better question might be posed to Auburn fans as to how they feel for letting this happen when they had their chance at snagging Kirby...

Kirby is a better fit for UGa. Plus Gus is a better fit for AU. Next question.

I said this today. Win or lose UGA is a player now. When we walked out of the Georgia dome in 08, I knew we'd be right back. I kinda feel that way about UGA.

Kirbys first season reminded me of sabans. A transition year that u kind of just absorb. Some talent, Not all over the roster but some. Horrible culture that must be fixed, bad apples to prune. Won some games, lost some but there was no question it was heading in the right direction. Georgia fans themselves looked at last season as we did 07. Win or lose, keep working, don't get too down, don't get too up, support the program and know the coming years are gonna be exciting as hell.
