Correction...Mason. Seemed like a gritty kid.

Stetson got my attention in the spring game also.

Rusty Mansell (UGA's 247 mod) was hinting a couple of weeks ago that Stetson Bennett might be looking to transfer to a smaller school so that he can get some playing time. That would really hurt us. He was supposedly a big asset to our scout team last season.

I think that I have to agree with you and Dawgsontop34

so I am changing my mind - redshirt is pointless since he won't stay 5 years, hell,we will probably be lucky to keep him for 4

Since Stetson Bennett transferred, and John Seter got cut, our backup would literally be Terry Godwin if we redshirted Fields

I want Fields to get at least a start vs one of the rent a wins. I’m not convinced the formula from last year will work without Sony and Chubb and Fromm just doesn’t bring the same things Fields does to the table.

No, but it’s almost a sure thing.

My bad. I forgot about him. I do know he is on the baseball team and was thinking about focusing on that for his senior year.

Who do I want? Fromm. It means that he's doing his job, the team is following his lead, and we are winning games. Fields is going to play but Fromm is as natural a leader as I think I've ever seen at the position at UGA (Greene and Murray included). Fields has Cam Newton talent but don't see the team rallying behind him the way they have Fromm.

Fields hasn’t played one single down in a real college football game and some folks wanna start him over the kid that helped us get to the NC, mind blowing. I’ll stick with Fromm.

It's a touchy thing. You don't want a divided team. You guys are going to have to deal this year with what Alabama fans dealt with last year, though Fromm is probably better than Hurts. Thing is, if Fields doesn't get enough playing time, or if it becomes apparent he may not be the starter till Fromm is gone, then he may be transfer out. I expect Hurts will transfer by 2019, and perhaps before this coming season. I don't mean to piss off you guys, but that's just the way it's becoming with hot shot quarterbacks.

The thing about fromm is that he improved week after week.

If that continues in 2018 at a similar pace, fields will not get a start until fromm leaves.

My only concern for fromm was his accuracy on the short stuff against bama when he didn't trust his pocket. He sailed a lot of easy throws. There might only be 1 team on the schedule with a DL like that. But at some point, we will need to win those games.

Hurts "helped" UA get to the national title game his freshman year and lost, same as Fromm, but Tua Tagovailoa is way far better than him, and it's a pretty good bet he'll be the starter by the end of the year.

It'll be interesting to watch your situation.

Tua is the pocket passers and hurts is the mobile QB.

I don't see fromm losing the starting job. He wasn't where he needed to be to win the ncg. But he wasn't far removed. A little more touch on the short stuff, and he is the guy who threw the bomb to win the ncg.

Not really the case. Tagovailoa is also very mobile. A true dual threat, which Hurts is not.

Fromm is much more mobile than Jacob Eason.

I think you missed the point.

ha. I was advising you guys about hot shot qbs transferring out, and forgot that you've had your own experience with that in the last year.
