OK.

In UGA's current situation, they now have 3 weeks to get Stockton every single 1st team reps and a game plan he is most comfortable with.

In your "better" scenario, you have basically forfeited a game and you only have one likely short week to get Stokton the 1st team reps and create a game plan for him.

Brilliant strategy. I think i would take the first scenario when it comes to potential success in round 2.

I don't care how much you practice a 2nd stringer, Beck is a first round draft pick. You aren't going to replace him in that amount of time..

I can confirm at least the people I know inside the program have confirmed to me (multiple) that the secondary MRI showed a torn UCL and Carson is done and setting his effort on the NFL. It is sad he forwent what wouldbe been better draft slot tocome back for the G and this happened but it happens. On to stockton, he is a 5 star with 3 years in the program, beck was actually a 4 star. Stockton was the top rated duel threat qb in his class (or maybe second) so brings a whole new aspect.

Stockton gets almost no 1st reps and now we have a near whole month to implement an offense around him. He also throws imo a more catchable ball than Beck does even if beck can occasionally fit in places over the middle requiring a bunch of arc that stockton cant. I am hopeful.

Also our punter who is either the best in the country or one of the handful that could be possible for it is having season ending surgery

Your logic is just not flying. By basically forfeiting the SECCG, you are forfeiting the bye.

Of course with your amazing gift of hindsight you know he gets injured but in the real world, nobody can see the future.

You are basically saying you would rather a situation where your forfeit the conference championship game but your starting QB gets injured in round 1 giving your backup one week for round 2.

Sorry but most rational people are going to want 3 weeks for that backup QB to get up to speed for a chance at round 2.

UGA Rivals reporting it's not torn and just bruised. Not really buying that but it's out there.

Like I said I am not an insider or anything like that, but I do know people who are plugged in and I imagine this is very well guarded as a secret but ive hd 3 of the most trusted insiders i personally know like irl tell me its torn. I am not alone others are saying this as well.

Again we could all be wrong, but I find it very unlikely

Think it best to just move on, don't want to be limited by an injured player again.

I also think a solid argument could be made Stockton with this very very average skill group but with an NFL starter in Ettiene and a freshman in frazier who reminds of chubb could make for a better offense than beck could.

Now if we still had AD Ladd Bowers etc then its not even close Beck all day

Bottomline, you lost your starting qb for a NC run. The SECCG wasn't worth it.

And now teams have no tape for the offense.

Uga just won the sec with a backup, and has made 2 national title games with a backup. Guess we have to try to do it again.

I’ll say again, I think the team as it’s constructed could very likely be better under Stockton. Beck needs those guys like Ladd and bowers. We have no nfl talent at wr except MAYBE bell in a 6th or 7th round flyer and same with Delp. Ettiene might not go round 1 because of how RB are valued now but he’ll be an nfl started, Frazier likely will be too

The INT was on Kirby - you’re already in FG range, hand it off kick it and make Texas go 80 yards in 2 minutes.

Regardless. really sad to see both of these players be lost, when such big games are ahead. I hope a speedy and complete recovery for both of them.

You are a moron..Kirby looked that kid in the eye after that int and took full responsibility for putting him in that spot.

Terrible play call and Kirby knew the coaches screwed up

Stockton played 100%

No a UCL tear is a UCL tear. He’s out a year. Now the poor kid is stuck. Take a low draft grade or return to Georgia where he won’t be able to play anyway next year. This is truly an awful situation and I hate it for him. Even if he took a medical redshirt next year at Georgia he’d never get to start another game for them because the heir apparent will have established himself next season. As a father I wouldn’t even know what advice to give my son.

Werner was a freshman transfer in his 1st year in the program. He’s also 3rd string.

Stockton is in his 3rd year in the program and he’s the backup.

Flame away, but IMHO he is better than Beck.

He is better at Beck imo at running a normal college offense especially the kind we are running this year without even like average WR for us the past decade. If you gave beck bowers and ladd he is legit as frick like he proved last year and that would be far better than stocktons offense. The truth is we dont have anyone really. Smith leads the FBS in drops even though he is one of the fastest players in the country. Dillon bell has regressed a lot, Lovett has had near as many drops as smith and just cant be that slot release when no one is afraid of hte outside If we get Colbie Young back for the playoffs that will be huge.

This could be a huge blow, and it’s not the only one. That int was horrid. He can’t be doing that.
