I doubt he does anything when a large majority are telling him not to. I'm sure there are things he's done where it's evenly split or close and he has to decide.

You sound like you're hunting for a neutral ally because everyone knows that Ole Miss and Tennessee have an axe to grind with Kiffin. I really don't think Texas has the following everybody thinks they do. They have a mediocre history of national success. They really just beat up on all the smaller Texas schools for 100 years and were usually ranked. Now Texas is a big, football loving state, but there are so many other schools that have competitive programs now. And Austin has become so liberal, it's turned off a lot of the rural fans.
Just throwing this out there, I obviously don't think LSU would fare better going independent. And LSU fans love the sec and being part of it.

eh, I think most people believe that Kiffin is a disrupter who likes to exploit loop holes when there's a loop hole to exploit. And when the opportunity presented itself, through TROs granted, yeah he recruited players who benefitted from the TRO.
The "Texas Law Group" has filed lawsuits all over the country over this 5 for 5 shitshow. Of the 43 litigants in the BR case, 6 were from LSU (1 football player, 2 soccer players, 2 softball players, and 1 basketball player). There were also LA athletes from Tulane, Grambling, McNeese, Northwestern St, and Louisiana Tech as co-petitioners.
I don't disagree that Landry is doing his best Huey Long impression and is trying his best to be a cajun Donald Trump, but I don't think he is/was pulling the strings on the lawsuit getting filed when it did. I do think he's certainly been supportive of it since it got going, however.

This thread is the first reference I've witnessed that Morehead was a power broker beyond campus. Given that his long time inner circle is starting to move to other jobs, word is that he is edging toward retirement from UGA.

Tennessee loves to hate Kiffin but no one has had an actual axe to grind in ages. He's mostly like a pro-wrestling heel to us (and Knox Co elected one of those as mayor).
