He was gone after the season anyway. However, Gus pissed him off so now he isn't waiting until after the season.

He's probably sick of listening to Gus tell him, "be patient", "we have a plan" etc...in the end I don't think it's a good idea to quit on your team. However, I do believe Gus likely mishandled him as a legit back up. It shouldn't have been that hard to have a plan for him each game and allow it to happen so he sticks around and transfers at the end of the year.
Maybe betraying the team your on is an American ideal now...who knows.

I completely understand; if your like Kelly Bryant and you’ve burned 4 games and the writings on the wall; some call him a quitter.. I don’t he made a business decision. If he played 1 more game he was done.
But 8 games in and you’ve played in all of them.. it’s just a waste of a month, imo.

He should have stayed another month. There was zero reasons to leave early
