Gary Danielson discusses Alabama vs. Texas A&M

He has to make Texas A&M viable in this game. He is in the mold of what Ty Detmer had to do at BYU or Drew Brees had to do at Purdue. He has to produce an ‘A’ game. With the offense he runs and the number of plays that they run, just like Detmer or Brees, he can’t have a ‘B+’ game. He has to have an ‘A’ game for them to win. He has to have an ‘A-‘ game just to keep them from being blown out. When you play this style, that’s the path to win. It’s an inside straight. There are not 20 cards in the deck for them to get the win. Alabama has different ways of beating you. Texas A&M has one.

It’s a second chance and they know it, which is not new for teams that have to run the table. There are always one or two games where the other team has you, and you pull out the play at the end. Beating LSU relieves some pressure. They are going to play really well this weekend. One of the main ingredients they have going for them against a team like Texas A&M is depth. They have the depth to chase Manziel around all day. It will be a very fresh, confident Alabama team.

LSU played the right way to beat Alabama. You have to be physical with them to match their physical game, and have a quarterback that completes a high percentage of third down plays. Alabama knew one of those games was coming and they proved they have a lot of different ways of winning.

I know a lot of people don't like Danielson, but I think he's the best out there at breaking down a game for the average fan. He does his homework and pays attention to details.

Without a doubt JFF is going to need to be great to win, but with a solid O-Line and a stable of very capable running backs, he won't have to be perfect.

I like Danielson; he's the best in the business from what I have seen. His play by play insight is good and can be down right uncanny at times.

He really will though. Our defense doesnt frick around and you see what happens when johnny fricking fagg0t doesnt play perfect against elite defenses.

Agreed. He had a rough first year on the broadcast, but since then he's stepped it up.
Vern is a old goof that chuckles up the broadcast, so I understand the hate for him, but I don't get the Danielson hate.

Once LSU adjusted, they pretty much kept TAMU's Offense bottled up. The difference will be Bama's Offense vs. their Defense. Bama's RB's will have a big day.

He is knowledgable, I just wish he'd shut the hell up sometimes. He seems to love to hear himself talk.

Considering that a "perfect" game from Manziel would mean A&M scored on nearly every possession, I'd say it will matter.
He won't play perfect, but no team ever played a perfect game and lost.

A&M had 1 3 and out against LSU and that was because of 2 plays Johnny made mistakes (one misread on a run and the other a bad throw). It was the turnovers that killed us but A&M was still moving the ball throughout the game. That's not to take any credit away from LSU but it wasn't like the UF game where A&M couldn't move the ball in the 2nd half offensively. If Manziel can just calm down and play within the offense he will be effective.
I also don't think the Bama running game is going to just run over A&M. It's the passing game where we are vulnerable and I think that is honestly what will make the difference. A&M could really use a couple of unforced errors like Bama had against LSU with the fumbled handoff and the fumbled PR but those are typically "Un Bama like"

We ran all over LSU. A+M wont be a problem.

You run the type of Offense aTm does, and there will be more turnovers. 6 vs. Ole Miss & 5 vs. LSU two of the 3 best Defenses TAMU has faced. Zero vs. Florida, but that was early in the season.
