would probably be more competitive than 75% of the teams in the SEC

Give Danielson some credit... he did say that he thought there were probably 5-6 teams in the league that COULD beat Bama outright this year. So there are several teams that Bama could lose to without beating themselves.

AJ was playing the best ball of his life and I am willing to bet he has more to offer.

Not really. AJ played his typical game. The game against Aggie last year was atypical. 3 INT's all year and 2 came in that game. The game Saturday was AJ being AJ.

I'll be rational and agree with Danielson. Either JFF is the most amazing player we've seen in a long time or the Alabama defense blows. So the most amazing playmaker we've seen in a long time has success against Alabama and we're shocked?

I don't get it either.

What Alabama did was impressive. A&M was a Yeldon fumble away from being blown out. All credit to Johnny and more so Mike Evans for getting them back in it but it's the truth.

Sounds about right.

Gary Danielson on Bama,'I was shocked how natl media viewed Bama after win. They're the only team in the country that can beat you 5-6 ways'

Gary is usually smarter than this. Texas A&M's defense is terrible. Seems like he didn't watch or ignored how Rice and Sam Houston ate that defense up. Of course, Bama was going to score a lot!

The story of the game after the fact was how much worse Bama's defense is. They were supposed to beat A&M, but they way they won showed surprising weaknesses.

Speaking of which, what happened to that one Vandy guy who would flame the the rant? Something?Dore. It was entertaining to see a Vandy fan talk shite. Like a midget talking trash to a UFC fighter. You know its not really gonna go anywhere, so just sit back and enjoy it.

That's the Saban mantra...it's bullshite though

Vince Lombardi's mantra was we never lost a game, the clock just ran out sometimes with us behind on the scoreboard.

it's all psycobabble bullshite

i tend to think it's a combination of the fact that JFF IS the most amazing player we've seen in a long time, and that our defense never found a suitable rhythm in pass protection. but everyone will see at year's end that the defense is certainly top 10, probably top 5 again like normal under Saban.

if it's really as bad as some people around here want to pretend that it is, then it will be OBVIOUS from here out as well.

bottom line, TIME will tell. not silly people with opinions.

It is?

I have never heard Saban say that. Do you have ONE shred of evidence that's the actual truth? Don't worry, I'll wait.

Gary never said their defense was good. Neither did he say it wasn't terrible.

in your desperate world it is. but you'll understand through the course of the season that THAT is certainly a silly comment. our defense isn't that much worse. it's just the angle with which YOU want to see it.

I think this is Bama's least talented secondary since '08 but, Manziel is twice the passer he was last year. They did a good job of keeping him in the pocket -- maybe too good because he had way too much time to throw and was able to fit the ball in places where the defender couldn't make a play or just found open guys. Having a 6'5'' WR didn't hurt either.
