Wow what legal team would advise in institution to sign a contract and not even get a copy of the contract... especially one as important as that..... Always get a copy of everything and anything you sign... First thing you learn in law school

I'm pretty sure starting a new division is the intended consequence.

I doubt they have a landing spot. They’re just grandstanding and starting trouble just like they’ve been doing for weeks now.
They still deserve to be in the playoffs though.

I don’t think you do this unless you know there is a spot.

Many SEC fans don't want to see it but the Big 10 is better off because they spread their media assets around to 3 entities while the SEC put all their assets into the ESPN/ABC basket. FSU is going to the Big 10 and they will be joined by UNC, Clemson, Miami and possibly UVA.

I agree. Hitching SEC wagon to ESPN might not be the best decision. ESPN doesn’t exactly have money to burn nor a stronghold on sports.

their penalty aint gonna be the revenue for the entire conference

I believe it’s 10 years worth of their conference cut plus penalties.

Their penalty is whatever the contract says the penalty is. People sign stupid contracts all the time.

Ironically, FSU is one of the schools that blocked the 12 team playoffs for this year.

Negative. Florida and Georgia and probably South Carolina will block that

Doesn’t mean the SEC has to take them

It does if you want to keep BIG 10 out of your territory.

hate FSU more than anyone, but I’m trying to figure out what their legal argument is going to be. Breach of fiduciary duty perhaps?

FSU is the beautiful girl who looks in the mirror and dreams of yesteryear’s. Tallahassee I think is a pretty town. Close to gorgeous beaches. Awesome fan base. Very passionate.

They filed in Tallahassee Circuit Court. Their paper is the Tallahassee Democrat! Not Republican. Like all Democrats, they think the justice system will work in their favor.

They’re trying to imtimidate Mickey Mouse. What they don’t realize is Disney has loads of High powered Democrat lawyers that will make mincemeat of their lawsuit.

Give this man a drink. He’s think logically.

Make no mistake…the schools are open for a backdoor slide into the sec. But I’m betting it’s Big10 or bust as this is about money. Not rivalries.

Same argument was made 2 years ago. UT was still admitted.

Bitch & Moan all you want behind closed doors. In the end the vote will be unanimous if it happens.

UT is a different animal completely. The state of Texas was completely dominated by more B12 teams than you can count on one hand. A big move was needed to make the SEC relevant here. Also UT is a bigger asset on its own.
