You know we are... Texas A&M Jimbo Fisher Fired by ESPN agreed to pay Jimbo Fisher a record-breaking buyout of more than $76 million when they fired him as head football coach in November 2023. Buyout Payment Terms Initial Lump Sum: $19.2 million due within 60 days of termination. Annual Installments: $7.2 million paid annually through 2031. No Offset: The agreement contains no offset or mitigation clause, meaning Fisher keeps the full amount even if he takes another job. Funding: The money is funded through donor contributions via the school's 12th Man Foundation and athletic department funds.
Scott Woodward should be put on trial for collusion with agents.
On that note FSUs only hope is for Jimbo to agree to a 1$ salary

If they want to move on from Norvell Deion should be their first call, and I don’t even like Deion that much.
Deion's buyout at Colorado is $10M, lot lower than I expected

Kiffin’s always looking for the next troll. I wouldn’t put anything past him including dumping LSU for a much easier path to the playoffs.

He has to have serious desire to coach that much to be looking with the no mitigation or offset in there.
And if that’s the case why accept anything more than 4 year contract with a token salary from anywhere much less somewhere as reported cash strapped as FSU?
He wants to clear his name and legacy might as well have all the money spent to talent on the field.
At least Brian Kelly has to pretend to look for a job and if he accepts one it has to be relative market value

There are some quality coaches out there to pursue and none of their names are Jimbo or Deion
So, Terry Bowden, if they can lure him away from the Monroe Greenheads ?

I don't know what's going on at FSU. Norvell is a good coach. I don't think he's necessarily a great coach, but he's good. He didn't forget how to coach after winning 13 games there.
Honestly, I think we're seeing the difference between playoff team money and ACC team money, but FSU hasn't been that competitive even in the ACC as of late.

Imo, if they hire Deion, they truly have lost touch with reality.

I met with the FSU AD 12 years ago while doing an athletics master plan design study for them - at the time LSU had massive debt - and I remember the AD's (or facilities director's) words at the time "we need to be careful we don't end up in their situation."

This never happened

Is TAMU still paying Jimbo?
Jimbo is getting paid from the escrow fund that was set up before he was fired. Yes he is being sent checks from that account.
I expect he wants to get back into coaching and he is a colorful character. He would definitely be an upgrade over what FSU has now, especially since he would be playing an ACC schedule.

One of the biggest systemic collapses in college athletics I can think of outside of SMU in the 80s.
In 2023 Oklahoma State was 10-4 and played in the Big 12 title game. In 2024 they collapsed to 3-9. In 2025 Gundy was fired after starting 1-2 w/back to back losses to Oregon 69-3 and Tulsa 19-12.

Thank you! LSU has not beaten FSU since Reagan was in office.
