I truly have no clue and don't see the need/value for anyone to spin it one way or the other.
It could be that he wasn't a fit with his staff or that he wanted to be a part of something new at Auburn under a respected DC with a lot of visibility.
How could I presume to know which is more likely the case? What difference does it ultimately make? He'll either pan out or won't.
Agree with this too. Nick Saban wished him well the other day - said he didn't know why he left, that you needed to ask Lance. Probably for money or a chance to work with Boom.
Some people (regardless of profession) move around a lot. A hired hand to help improve things quickly (probably in recruiting here), then move on. He seems like that type - never one to settle down.

This is an insanely stupid thread, why would an LSU fan even start it?
They're trying to destroy the close friendship between our two schools.

No clue. All that matters is the coaching staff at Auburn thought he would be a good addition...
The speculation is just kind of pointless.

Because Auburn is envious of Alabama's coaches and are trying to get them all, but may have to file chapter 13 when all is said and done.

If anything, he brought that along.

Have contract details come out? I would guess for more money.
Will be interesting to see how much he makes at AU. Lance 7th highest paid assistant at Bama at $430K in 2014
I don't see AU giving him much more than that - if they even matched that amount. AU assistant salaries for 2014

Bama was just a stepping stone.....duh.

He realized that hooking his wagon to Smart was not getting him anywhere, and was trending to the point where he was going to be the scapegoat. A new start under Muschamp may lead to a DC position when WM moves up.

In a thread full of reasonable responses leave it to Puppets or phan to bring things back to normal.
