Dickerson had 45 more carries than Barkley. Why is games important?
re: Can we talk about the Wofford mascot?

Greetings, Tiger fans. Just a little information about the Terriers.
The original Terrier nickname was taken from our 1909 baseball team who adopted a pit bull terrier during the season. Legend has it in one of the games the dog, Jack, chased down an opposing runner who was trying to score and the name stuck from there.
Decades later, the Boston Terrier you see now was adopted as the official mascot. I'm sure there were many ridiculous marketing reasons behind the decision but the official line is that Wofford is small and fierce like the Boston Terrier (1,600 students). The reality, in my opinion, is that a local alumni wanted to use his dog as the official mascot. That moved Wofford away from the open ended "Terrier" and into a Boston Terrier theme since 2003.
Looking forward to playing a storied program. We've had some mild success the last few years and games like this will help build the program, win or lose. My only wish is that it was at Alex Box. I've never been but maybe we'll get a series sometime soon.
Some older mascot logos if you're interested

Weed ID Help
Posted by TheMightyTerrier on 8/13/22 at 2:26 pm

Anyone know what this bastard is? It’s about taken over my side yard (which we don’t use) often and the gravel drive. However I think it’s the same plant that gave off thorny/spined seeds in the spring which my kids and dog hated and infiltrated our main yard. shite was pretty painful. Any help on ID and treatment is appreciated! I live in Greenville, SC.

re: New Construction Loan
Posted by TheMightyTerrier on 1/9/22 at 6:45 am
Sort of confused by some parts of this. Sounds like he’s talking about loan limits and jumbo loans. Loan limits for 2022 are $647,200. Your construction loan is $800k? What will your traditional loan be for ie new appraisal estimate of house? Generally banks want a 20% down payment on the $647k as well as cash for any amount above the loan limit. If that can’t be met then it’s a jumbo loan which usually requires income limits. Hope this helps.

re: Any Chattanooga, TN course recommendations?
Posted by TheMightyTerrier on 2/15/21 at 1:55 pm
Most if not all of the better courses in Chattanooga are private. Chattanooga GCC, Black Creek, Council Fire, and Lookout are all worth calling or seeing if they can reciprocal if you are a member somewhere. Been a while since I've played CF and LM. Honors is the best in the area but no chance of getting on really. Sewanee is done in tandem and very similar to Sweetens but further away from the city. Nob North in GA is fun. I played Maclemore many times when it was Canyon Ridge. Worth the drive IMO. Let me know if you have any other questions. Harrison Bay is best public bet if you don't mind driving out there.
Keep in mind the time change if you're staying in Chattanooga and driving to Sweetens.

This is already used and implemented for every other vaccine we as Americans receive. It’s called a shot record and every institution you or your child attends for school requires it.

So you’re looking to add consistency and high floors and Mixon is who you’re gonna target?
re: Kiawah Island Ocean Course

Expect a very great golf experience.
Course isn’t overly hard if you play the right tees for you, they have about 6 to choose from. Obviously this assumes mild wind. Very hard when the wind blows as the course runs parallel to the ocean so every shot has cross wind.
Listen to your caddy.
Typical Dye course. Visually it looks narrow and small but plenty of space.
Greens are a different grass than you a probably use to (can’t remember what they are) but it can be an adjustment.
Plan to stay after the round and enjoy some drinks in the clubhouse if they are allowing that currently.

re: PGA championship: why are these guys laying up on 16?
Posted by TheMightyTerrier on 8/7/20 at 9:15 pm
You have to play a fade obviously which eliminates a lot of the field. A draw player who tries a fade and double crosses is going to end up in the water or rough left.
So if you do play fade, you have probably a 30% chance to make birdie going for it. Alternatively, probably 50% laying up. These are guesses but probably close.
JT was at the cut line so I can see why he would try to make something happen. But the rest of them are trying to avoid a 6 vs make a 3. That will likely change over the weekend.

I don’t have an opinion either way. It’s more of a cost benefit to you personally. It’s pretty polarizing to be honest. Some people swear by it and some say it’s a hoax. The science makes sense but how effective it actually is is up for debate. Bottom line to me is if you think it’s worth $30 per club to have the best possible club then I can’t argue with that logic.
For me personally, I’ve played both and couldn’t tell much of a difference. However, the folklore among low handicappers is when the science first came about the guy who developed it asked Davis Love if he could have his clubs pured. The guy asked his thoughts and Love said he liked the feel but for some reason the 7 iron felt off compared to the others. Well, the guy who pured them intentionally left the 7 iron unPured and told Davis. That’s sort of how it got started. Take it for what it’s worth.

Just curious and I hope I don’t come across as judgmental, what sold you on getting your shafts Pured and what is your handicap?
re: A reminder for those concerned about hospital capacity and staffing
Posted by TheMightyTerrier on 7/21/20 at 8:31 pm
Maybe now people will see hospital systems for the manufacturing businesses they became decades ago. Their raw materials (patients) disappeared so they had to cut back on cost. Only way to make up for the revenue lost in Q2 is to charge a premium for new materials (covid). They are just managing inventory and cost. Doctors and nurses are just the physical laborers doing the actual work while someone else manipulates the numbers.
People blame the doctors for rising medical costs, meanwhile the hospital management and insurance companies are making money by the truck load.
End rant.

I’ve been a MC white/black for years. Decided to try the Z Cord in the wedges I bought last fall. I find them to be harder than the MC but they are not any more or less rough on hands and gloves. It feels like a tour velvet only a lot more firm. I actually like them more than my MC to be honest. Feels more uniform throughout the grip for me.

1) Inability to get permits to start work
2) Inability to get inspections to continue work
3) Customer's budget being screwed by the shut downs forcing us to lose work
My fear is this. We sent out letters to project owners outlining the potential for items 1 and 2 above as well as procurement issues for some of our longer projects. We are working on a force majeure letter just in case.

How do you think the medical system is being used now? A large patient population already uses the ER as a primary care facility. They will continue to do so for the end of time as long as Medicaid is a payer.
