I understand the point regarding perceived strength of schedules. However, public opinion is irrelevant and not surprising given neither team scored in double digits in the first game.

My point is that it's not that surprising that voters would think that on a neutral field, Alabama would defeat OSU.

What pisses me off is that there was a need to debate this at all using crap like SOS and worse losses as deciding factors. I would have loved to see Bama have to settle it on the field with OSU. Glad we're moving to a 4 team playoff format.

What else is new? But I think there will be at least one or two undefeated teams. If we should happen to beat bama I don't think the powers that be will take any chances and allow LSU to rank above them. Of course if LSU wins them all including the SEC championship lets say that they will not be in the NC if two other teams are undefeated.

The only fanbase using "worst loss" was Alabama.. Oklahoma St was talking about their best wins.

That told me all I need to know The "eye ball" test literally got Alabama in the game, it had nothing to do with resumes (because the resumes did not even come close to comparing) and I'm not surprised LSU got stomped in a rematch given that Alabama had extra weeks to prepare. Saban lead teams after a break are brutal.. even moreso when they have extra weeks to prepare against you.

Bammer: "we only barely lost to LSU"
OSU: "we beat 5 teams in the top 20, they only beat 2!"

Nah, they won't make the mistake of putting in a non conference champion in the title game again on the last year before a 4 off.

Though can see LSU being the highest rated 1 loss team at 3 getting left out because 2 weak arse teams are undefeated.

tough to beat a team twice especially that teams that were near equal. Best 2 outta 3 is what I say

You know what I say, I say we have the rematch before they even play in the regular season. Now what do ya say to that?!! Being a genius is difficult at times.

Bama was an awesome team - no doubt. But the bottom line was that LSU won at Bama and won the SEC (still harder than winning in the Dome where there was a large number of fans for both teams). All of that should count for something. Plus, it just sounds stupid saying someone is a National Champion, but didn't win their division or play in their conference championship game to get there. I'd take it if it happened to LSU, but I'm just saying. Again, I'm not taking away from Bama's dominant win and awesome defense. It just seems like it would make things a lot more cut and dry. Win your conference or don't come crying - that's for everyone across the board.

I'm just glad it wasn't close. If LSU had lost a close game in the BCS championship, the wailing and gnashing of teeth would have been much worse.

As it is, nobody outside Louisiana and fanbases that hate Bama feel upset about it. The best two teams played, and one team dominated the other one.

That's all true, and Bama deserved it for winning once they got there. At the end of the season, LSU beat Bama once and lost to Bama once.

My thing is that it would make it more cut and dry if teams just had to do one thing - win their conference. WIN your conference or don't come looking to make it in. Just like Bama deserved the NC for winning once they got there (they didn't create the system) - they WON when when they were put in that position. I'm a no excuses type person when it comes to college football. I felt like Bama got excused that year, but feel it should be differently going forward. But the NCAA is too wuss to do so... Although, you could still have times when there are more than two undefeated teams...in that case, maybe the playoff will help.

If Alabama beats LSU in a BCS Championship rematch again I'm pretty sure LSU will disband their football team and all their fans will kill themselves.

The first one already drove them all off the sanity cliff.

It's all just fun though, this will never, ever happen. It was a long shot to happen the first time and an ever greater long shot this time.
