it defied logic and reason to allow it to happen last time, and then the football game proceeded to suck. No way it happens again, especially when the argument against it already made more sense than the argument for it ever did.

Yeah, it's completely inconceivable that voters would think Alabama to be the #2 team heading into bowl season.

Bama beat our asses, but it doesn't mean it made all that much sense to play that game when there already is so little inter-sectional football played in the SEC.

The result of the game didn't make playing the game any better of an idea. The argument for it, the SEC's dominance, was cemented by the fact that UF got to pound OSU's arse as the result of the backlash AGAINST a rematch in the first place.

Right. The sec hadn't played each other in bowls for 50 years but because it was bama it seemed ok to GUMPS.

I mean.. If you look at the way things are going, it really is possible. If LSU narrowly beats Bama but wins out and crushes the east champ, Oregon loses to Stanford or the other PAC-12 div champ, Clemson beats FSU and then loses to USCe (or FSU beats Clemson and loses to UF), it could happen. None of that is far fetched.

Ohio St is a wild card here that wasn't there in 2011. If all of that happened and we had LSU SEC champ with 1 loss, Bama 1 loss and OSU undefeated.. I think voters would put OSU in over Bama, bad schedule or not. No one wants this rematch unless the LSU-Bama game in November is a phenomenal game.

Will NOT happen, the BCS crew want a "game to remember" with nation wide interest for the last BCS NC game, NO WAY they regionalize it with an SEC vs SEC matchup-again

It won't happen, and it shouldn't happen, but I would get SUCH a kick out of some of the corndog fans going nuts. Heads would spontaneously explode.

So, fairly or unfairly, I’m not sure how this works for Ohio State. A one-loss SEC team would almost certainly get the title game nod over the Buckeyes, it seems.

Well the first time it was played, it wasn't up to the hype I was expecting. That is, unless you like defensive games. To put this in perspective, I had more fun studying for my biochemistry exam on a saturday night than the first game. Now the second one.

why are LSU fans upset? at the very least this scenario involves them going to Pasedena for the National Title game.... AAAAND giving them the only possible route of redemption for 1/9

I'm almost positive no lsu poster on here played in that game on 1/9. So how would it be redeemed? Also even if lsu beat bama in a titles game , 1/9 would have still happened.

Well, I don't think Bama would want this route either. I'm a believer that you should win your conference to get into the NC game (especially if you have to beat an additional highly ranked opponent in a conference championship game). I would think most Bama fans probably feel this way too, but were happy to take the 2011 opportunity (as anyone would). We already had that once. Also, Bama should want a little redemption for losing the Game of the Century last time LSU went there. If this scenario played out, it would still mean that Bama would only have 1 win against LSU at Bryant Denny since 2000 - a place where LSU has a winning record overall).

With that said, if LSU is good enough to run the table with the schedule they have, at that point I'd say bring on whoever. The offense is way more dynamic this year (though the D isn't as good).
