You have to admire Bama’s IDGAF attitude toward bringing in very damaged coaches.

I don’t like it regardless. We can win without his analysis. Just bad PR

I don't understand why Saban would do this... He is giving teams an opportunity to negatively recruit him. It does not matter that Durkin really wasn't responsible for the kids death. He was found guilty in the court of public opinion. Thats all Kirby, Jimbo, and O need. Why would he risk taking on someone like that? I'm sure he knows more than me, but just doesn't make sense from the outside looking in.

I'm pretty sure that you answered your own question.

I would imagine "He just hired a staff member who had a player die on his watch" has more impact on a parent than just about anything else Saban is being negatively recruited for currently.

admit I cringe at some of Saban's consultant/analyst choices. Then I see the product he consistently puts on the field and I know there's a method to the madness. i.e. Lane Kiffin

It's called not giving AF about anyone's opinion and focused on winning. I admire that type of attitude but wonder how much media/social media PR backlash any other coach/program would receive with this hire. Saban should have passed on this one

Few of the things described sound like something that wouldn't be accepted at any SEC program had a kid not died.

That’s not encouraging.

Except after a thorough investigation he was found to not be at fault.

But even if he were, breaking down film is basically intern work.

Right or wrong, that means nothing.

He's long since been guilty in the court of public opinion.
