You have a lot of faux outrage today.

At least you have a place to let it all out.

READ THE REPORT!

Have you read it? Post some passages from it for me that you think exonerate Durkin and we can talk about them.

Further, do you believe the buck stops with the head coach in terms of the on field safety of his players? Why or why not?

Alabama's new fight song:

I want your horror, I want your design
'Cause you’re a criminal as long as you’re mine
I want your love
Love, love, love, I want your love
I want your psycho, your vertigo shtick
Want you in my rear window, baby, it's sick
I want your love
Love, love, love, I want your love

"The school had previously determined through an independent investigation that Maryland’s athletic training staff failed to properly treat the heatstroke symptoms of McNair, who later died on June 13."

Tragic, but just that plain and simple.

Thankfully, he won't have contact with players on the field, if I understand correctly, so your point is moot. In that regard, he may as well be hired to do research in a biology lab.

Because the culture of the football program was not one that made the safety and well being of the players a priority.

Maybe you need to go read more about went on at Maryland.

So you’d be okay hiring Sandusky is a similar capacity?

I mean you can pretend to be outraged because you want to pin something on Alabama.

Ultimately no one's gonna care that he's breaking down film.

Hell, Bryan Kelly decided to have practice on a day with 50mph winds and put a kid up in a lift to film practice who was tweeting that he was scared.
No one cares about that anymore it seems.

LSU players beat up a marine and were invited back on the team.

Don't think anyone's gonna care about a guy in an intern position.

That's a pretty fricking dumb comparison and kind of exposes you for whatever point you're trying to prove.

Good. D.J. Durkin is ultimately responsible for what happened in that program because he was the HC but there were a host of other people that were educated and equipped to prevent that death and didn't. Durkin should not be beyond redemption here, he lost his job and maybe he should have but he doesn't deserve to be blackballed.

My opinion won't be popular at all, but I have less ambivalence regarding Durkin coming in as a consultant than I did about trying to hire Hugh Freeze last year. Freeze is shady as hell, landed his program on probation with a LOIC tag, and chalked up his own show cause.

Honestly I puked in my mouth when I first heard Nick had hired Lane Kiffin - it sent chills down my spine. This Durkin (consulting) not so much.

I see this hire having negative recruiting consequences for Alabama.

Maybe you need to decide whether you're outraged by the football culture, or the fact that a kid accidentally died of a heatstroke while training. Don't even pretend to link the death and the culture...that'd be total horseshite.

That’s exactly what every objective observer has done.

Why is DJ Durkin not the coach at Maryland of this was just a tragic accident?

Not that you were addressing me, but has a fan/season ticket holder/alum with 2 kids currently at Alabama and for which I just scratched out a hefty check for spring tuition, please tell me how I can "draw the line" relative to the consultants our football coach chooses to employ on his staff?

I'm not pulling my kids out of UA, I'm not giving up my season tickets, I'm not burning my degree in the fireplace tonight, and I'm not cancelling my travel plans for the playoff game/games.

I can’t make that call for you, but I can say ignoring or defending this decision isn’t it.

He was hired back for 1 day, after the report came out, but the Maryland administration caved to public opinion (Can you imagine in Maryland? ), and dismissed him. The guy's not a murderer or a sadist, but you bunch of hypocrites have got to have something to make yourselves feel less inferior to Alabama's football program, so here you are.
