Mark Richt has lost control of the Bills.
I don’t know who he is and I watch about an hour of NFL football a year because I’m a Falcons fan and what’s the point but I saw that series of events at a bar last night and I like it….playoffs, Bills tied it up with time running out in a pretty hostile environment and in OT refs suddenly remembered PI is a thing they can do to impact the game. Just watching the Bills last drive and OT for some reason the refs apparently forgot that PI was a penalty on defense AND offense and then when Denver has the ball in OT when the next team that scores wins they remember “hey - we can call PI” and make up for lost time. It wasn’t a bad call or a good call, it was a call they wouldn’t have made earlier in the game.
Is there a legitimate sports league where gambling hasn’t turned it into a version of pro wrestling? I’ve always dismissed those claims out of hand but I have almost concluded that was because I wanted sports to be real. With the NBA gambling scandal, unlikely contained to just the NBA, and the evidence across every sporting event it’s becoming harder to explain the bad calls, the no calls, the inexplicable bad plays and coaching “mistakes” as mere anomalies. Anomalies aren’t consistent and the BS in all sports is consistent.
