Didn't read the thread.
Did Rantards try to convince the Ags that having the country's best QB is some kind of bad thing because other top ranked QBs busted in the past?
That's always my favorite.

Not that its a bad thing, just that it isnt a good thing either, which is fair to an extent. The irony is the people saying to tap the breaks are also the same people that get excited when their team picks up a big time prospect.

Yes, we get excited about a prospect. We are glad they chose our team and hope they do well, but you are a complete newb if you think just getting a mere commitment out of this guy is going to secure our future. Some scenarios that have played out in the VERY recent past:
1. Dude changes his pick and signs with another school on NSD.
2. Dude gets on campus and doesn't fit with the program well, ends up not seeing the field.
3. Dude gets to campus and another recruit proves to be much better, transfers.
4. Dude has something go down in his life and he never makes it to College Station.
5. Injury, the player is never the same. Never lives up to potential.
6. Scheme change that renders player's style, skills useless.
These are REAL-LIFE scenarios that have happened at A&M within the past 3 years. I am excited as hell about getting a commitment from Kyle Allen, but I sure as hell wouldn't start this thread, especially given the fact that he has not signed a LOI, nor set foot on campus as a student.
Do I think we fall back to earth after JFF leaves? No. I think we do much better. JFF is only one person. Look at the talent we already have on campus. Hell, Kenny Hill has some serious upside and is learning from a Heisman winner. Let these poop-flingers troll away with the "going back to normal mediocrity" bullshite. LSU should have fallen back to earth after Saban left. Do you think Alabama "falls back to earth" when Saban leaves? A program is not one person. We're doing it the right way this time, and the results are apparent.

Phillip Sims and Kiehl Frazier say hi.
Rankings don't always translate to the college game.

That's assuming they even make it to campus.

I don't think A&M is going to be terrible after Manziel but I do believe they become a 3-4 loss team. Kyle Allen could be a two year all american but he still wouldn't scratch the surface of the ridiculous things Johnny Hancock does on the field. Manziel might be the biggest douchebag of all time, but he is the most talented/lucky SOB I've ever seen.

I agree, and I wouldnt use Kyle Allen as proof we arent going to fall back to earth either. I'm just saying that all the people who say recruiting rankings dont matter will come on here February talking about all the high rated freshman stepping on campus next year.
The only thing the Kyle Allen commitment shows is that Sumlin is able to lure in top talent. Now lets see if he is able to develop it.

I agree with this. Recruiting rankings are a factor and Ranters are quick to boast about them
I would also add that Sumlin is also good at evaluating his players and picking the starter, without regard for prestige or popularity. See JFF over 4-star Showers. That in and of itself gives me confidence in the future, JFF or no JFF.

Aggies already have commits from 10 of the top 20 HS players in Texas that have committed.
Also in on several of the very top Texas recruits that haven't committed.
Add in the nations top Pro style QB recruit and other OOS commits and that is a hell for stout class.

The point I'm making is we're not going to become the next Auburn.
This is the funniest post of the thread. So you don't want to be successful in the SEC for decades and win SEC titles or a national title?
As if A&M is in any way a better football program than Auburn.
And I hate Auburn.
Texas A&M = Arkansas

Drew Brees, Jason White, Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, Johnny Manziel.
His ability to develop hasn't been attacked. Rantards like to troll by suggesting he can't recruit big-time talent, a suggestion he's already taken off the table.

That's what we have been trying to tell ags, so what would aggy record be without JFF? Would of lost to Ole miss for sure, Bama would have blown your doors off.

But we do have JFF so it's moot.

Not if you are saying one man doesn't make a team..
Cause well, he is your team. Can't have it both ways..

A&M knows every cheating trick known to man. And it is one of the top 5 richest schools in country, I believe.
Build a non-stop train to Houston--damn College Station--and you might rule the world.
Texas, be worried, be very worried.

The point of this thread is clear-A&M is going to remain a power long after Manziel.
For those aggie fans that think they have been exceptionally great with JM congrats on no SEC championship and no Nat'l championship.
List of teams you have not beat since joining the SEC:
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. LSU
4. USCe
The point of this post is to bring the OP down to earth because your team is already their.
For all normal aggie posters congrats on a very good first year in the SEC you have proven to be a challenge.
