Whether it’s my family or not, what’s wrong is wrong. If I was unfortunate enough to have been a parent to someone like Dahmer or one of those types, I would have absolutely agreed with whatever penalty was imposed.
It wouldn’t stop me from still loving them and respecting them in a sense. But definitely not publicly. You can down vote me to oblivion but I personally don’t take pride in what my ancestors did.
I respect them in a sense that they didn’t back down and fought fiercely when completely outnumbered, under equipped, and facing an enemy who’s better trained, more experienced, and technologically superior.
It’s ok to evolve and realize what they did was wrong and call them out on it without it being some shameful thing. After all, no one alive today participated in it.

Honestly, there were enough beers thrown on him where I would have done the exact same thing. OM fans are like hyenas, the nip and bite and run behind another so a lion can't tell one coward from the next and takes out the closest one to him. This is what happened. Dude had multiple beers thrown on him and his wife and both were cursed at all the way out of the stadium.
Watching videos in the grove exhibits same behavior... they chirp opposing fans from behind a rope, if other fan has a comeback that hurts their feelings they toss a beer on them and hide behind the rope and the rest of his frat bros. I think it’s perfectly normal to prefer to be around people that resemble you and share your culture than not (within reason, obviously you will encounter the other all the time).
“You owe it to me to never collectively judge another group based on repeated behavior” is a weird non-sequitur that seems to get brought up all the time as if it’s a knock down argument. I don’t grant that it’s immoral, because you’ve failed to point out why I owe you that.
