the opportunity to watch an incredible football game with kids around and hopefully decorum like we do in the south. My sincere apologies to everyone.

Hopefully Ole Miss fans remember that the traveling LSU fanbase is made up of a completely different segment and class of fans than the home game fanbase and the segment that comes to campus for those games (tailgaters without tickets, also known as Livingston Parish residents).

LSU's traveling fanbase show up, party, spend a lot of money, and try to engage everyone in having a good time.

Treat them well, and they return the favor tenfold. Treat them like shite, and shite may go down.

I know what I will do. Be a southerner and be welcoming and laugh about stories and have good times with you all. That’s what I’ve always experienced. Again sincere apologies.

Getting all that out the way though, do you know why your first punch should be thrown at the nose?

This information may be useful one day, hopefully not, but...

Bingo.

If you connect squarely, then there's the chance to break it. Even if you don't break it, the opponent is in so much pain he's lost the will to fight.

But even if you don't connect with it square, any type of contact, even a glance, is usually enough to cause the opponent's eyes to well up with tears from the pain. Now his vision is obscured and he's essentially fighting blind, giving you the advantage and allowing you to have a better chance of dictating the fight.

My dad is a doctor and he told me and my friends this information after hearing one of my friends saying that self defense experts teach to throw your first punch at the throat to instantly end the fight.

"Those assholes are going to get people hospitalized teaching that bullshite. A punch to the throat is going to get blocked by the chin, it's a built-in defense mechanism. Instinct makes you lower your chin. You win fights by going for the nose."
