2010 Auburn. Had them on the ropes running the ball and Mullen goes pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, and...... pass. Lost 17-14 I believe and gave the SCamster his closest game all year.
2009 had LSU 1 and goal for the dub... Mullen goes QB sneak with a 5'9" walk-on when the running back walks in.

Fricking Dan let off the gas
He did that a lot especially in big games.
Some recent head scratchers:
2009-LSU(down 30-26 under 3 minutes and 3rd and goal from the one with Anthony Dixon we throw a jump pass with 5”’8 Tyson Lee)
2016- South Alabama(blew a 20-7 lead in the 4th)
2016-Kentucky(played like dogshite and took the lead 38-37 with a little over a minute left. Let them complete a pass to set up a fricking 51 yard FG which they made. Fricking Peter Sirmon)
2017- Bama(see previous posts)
2017- Ole Miss(I know Fitz’s foot broke off, but how in the hell does an 8-3 team lose to Matt Luke at home? Thanks for checking out Dan)
2018- Iowa(I mean Kentucky and Florida were bad enough, biut how do you lose when allowing -15 rushing yards? Unbelievable)

- 2012 Bama for obvious reasons. Fricking Chavis man.
Bama had no answer for Mettenberger in the 4thQ. None
And when we were one fricking 1st down from putting that game away, Les runs btw the tackles 3 straight times.
People love to bring up bama's final drive but the reality is it never should have happened.

Flukiest LSU loss I think I've ever witnessed. We replay that game 9 times LSU wins 7-8 of those.

Auburn 2010 just because of the weird confluence of events. Ingram's fumble staying in bounds. Trent dropping a wide open pass at the 2 which resulted in a field goal. McElroy fumbling at the 10 and the ball was right behind him and no one thought to look back. Other losses just teams making great plays

True, true... he was no Andrew Zow back in the day, Tyler Watts either.
They weren't the stars of the Bama team. Shaun Alexander was.
Bama missed an extra point in overtime that cost them the game. I know that's normal for Bama now, but wasn't so much back then.
We were also coming off a an SEC championship and a pretty great year. Felt we were the better team. I was wrong by a PAT.

You can’t believe you lost to a #5 ranked team on the road? Frick out of here.

I wiki'ed Shawn Alexander. Pretty awesome rb.
Check out this odd fact though : " Alexander had narrowed his choices down to Michigan, Alabama, and Notre Dame "
Tommy and Shawn would have been a tough out in 99.

Mettenberger! That’s a real blast from the past. LSU and AU had a real competition going. Both fighting over players UGA kicked out.

15-14 loss to Kentucky last year on an un-timed down penalty... AND the 5th down deal vs Colorado in 1990.
Both losses were at home :(

-obviously Troy loss is on here
Recently I’d say 2018 aggy game and 2016 Florida.
After witnessing 2009 Ole Miss and 2010 Tennessee...I can’t really be surprised or in disbelief after a loss.

Bama turned the ball over 5 times against Ole Miss in 2015. Three of those turnovers were inside their own 20.
How are you surprised you lost that game? You gave a top ten, ten win team three free possessions inside your redzone

2010 and 2013 Iron Bowls.
Had both of them, but unexplained events and poor decisions.
In 2010, how do you fumble a ball 30 yards along the sidelines and it not roll out? TR drops the easiest pass for a TD that cost Bama 4. McElroy fumbles in FG territory and the ball laid on the ground for seemingly 2 minutes before anyone realized it and Auburn recovers. Another 3 points,at least, lost.
In 2013, Bama up 7, 5 minutes to go, 4th and 1 on AU 13 yard line. Saban with no confidence in kicker elects to go for it.
Had we any decent kicker, regardless of offense ability, kicks that FG to go up two scores.

Well that's all that matters, but the best team doesn't always win. Again, 2 losses pretty much highlights this and muddies the water.
