Probably explains Mullen not firing Todd Grantham
Part of the reason for buyouts is Mullen can’t come say I wanted to fire him but the uaa wouldn’t let me

ufmatt says NegaGators getting a lot of attention right now.
Early signing wasn't what ufmatt hoped for but still better than half the other teams in the SEC. ufmatt thinks that there is still time for Napier to save his job if he makes needed changes to staff. OC, play caller, S&C coach, O line coaching changes and Special Team coach.

Caw is deranged and his twitter source likely is too. However, there does seem to be some legitimacy to this, quite a few people in the know of UF message boards have said this is true about Hocke. Apparently Hocke was made "assistant head coach" and had a significant buyout that the UAA didn't want to pay by firing him, so that's why he's on staff still but got a demotion.

Napier's downfall on the staff right now appears to be that he only hires coaches that he has coached with or that are from Louisiana. Hell, even LSU doesn't have a head coach from Louisiana, but they do have MAC Kelly.

Really.... They can't afford to cut an S/c coach? If that is the issue holding uf back, and I were billy....I wwould pay it myself because he's heading towards "analyst"
But there has to be more to this "non firing" because he's been demoted and still being paid and a replacement is being sought...so they can pay two but not for fire one

Laugh all you want at Kelly, but Florida hasn't had his early success since Urban left. Certainly not headed there with Napier. It's been such a coaching carousel of mediocrity, that now UF fans are just used to it. It's sad what Florida has become honestly.

MAC Kelly is no better than Coach O, probably will turn out to be worse. If LSU fans are happy with 9 wins a season, he is their man. While the Gators are looking a ceiling of being 6-8 in the new SEC, LSU is looking at being 5-6 best in the new conference. Neither fan base should be happy with this.

University Athletic Association. The UAA is a separate entity at UF to monitor and control athletics.
