I remember that, Florida was actually really talented then, see they just dont have the talent they used to get, those kids go to Georgia now

I’d say Florida’s floor is 6 wins and ceiling is 9. UF recruits well and has enough talent to be decent. Also a question of how quickly Sumrall and Co. can implement their schemes. If I had to guess today, Florida goes 7-5.

One of the fascinating things about that game this year.

Athens is exactly the same distance from Atlanta as Gainesville is from Jacksonville....

And Gainesville is almost the exact same distance from Atlanta as Athens is from Jacksonville.

They should name MB stadium the "Bulldog Bowl" for this game... and we have almost the mirror image of the game as it is played traditionally in J'ville.

Other than the Everbank stadium being on the border of FL and GA and Mercedes Benz stadium being a 4 hour drive from the border.

If you had a neutral site game with Baylor where would you have it? That is a better comparison.

That seems fair.

People forget year 1 is usually about building a structure and philiosophy in CFB...it is very rare to go crazy winning year 1. Remember in his first year at UGA Smart went 8-5, first year at Alabama Saban went 7-6, Pete Carr went 6-6 his first year at USC, etc.

You're not replacing talent like you used to and lost some key contributors off last year's team, I'm not sure about that.

Will probably have a worse OL and I think Branch opened up things more for Gunner in the pass game than y'all realize. Miller and Allen on defense are big losses for anybody.

I could see comparable, I don't really see better.

Looking at the schedule I see 8 games where I would probably or definitely pick y'all head to head if I had to make bets today.

As a razorback fan i'd kill for that schedule.

Yall will still prolly go 4-8 though. Welcome to the club.

We lost some talent for sure but we return the entire backfield and 4 olinemen with starting experience; Gaston and Glover started games as true freshmen. I think our TE depth makes up for losses in the WR room.

We'll miss Christian Miller, but remember Ellijah Griffin's name....the whole country will know it by season's end.

Most years we have a very, very hard schedule to be fair.

7-5 would be my guess. Strolling into someplace like Mizzou and walking away with a win isn't easy.

My guess is the middle stretch of the season kicks hell out of Gators but y'all rebound to finish strong and build momentum for next year.

If we aren't too handicapped on the O line GA and @ TX are the only very high probability losses on that schedule. Home field and timing give us a chance against Ole Miss and Oklahoma.

It could be sixty or 30 degrees that day. Spurrier got those games moved to September. It could be a real factor.

I remember the late 70’s when the Gators had a shot at the SEC championship played in Lexington in November. Fran Curci was the UK coach and he flipped the sidelines so the Gators would be in the shade and not be able to stay warm in the sunshine. Needless to say, the Gators were beat handily. Curci was also the Miami coach during the”Florida Flop” so his hatred of the Gators was highlighted.
