Like I've said before, within 5-8 years these athletes will not be referred to as student athletes, but as employees of the school with a salary.

And the term "school" will be used very loosely. No GPA requirements, no course requirements, no ACT/SAT/testing minimum, etc.

Someone explain it to me like I am five why the NCAA can’t say .” This is what we offer ( stipend, free tuition , meals medical care , tutors , books , etc ) take it or leave it, You do NOT have to play
I know the courts have ruled against them but maybe start a new association?

I am curious what the conversations are like in NFL front offices. Its going to be the rare 21-22 year old who has made $4+ million a year for a couple of years prior to being drafted who will have the desire to do the work required to succeed at the next level. If you had earned, say $100k 2 years out of high school 40 years ago, could some grouchy assed football coach have told you anything??? I was making about $4.50 an hour and I thought I owned the damned world....

I agree. I think we need to get back to real student athletes and should probably take a page from the Ivy League schools and de-emphasize athletics. They still enjoy their rivalries as much as anyone else.

Good for Xaivian, I guess I am more interested in how or why he landed that deal.
I guess it could be a good selling point for TG to future prospects.

Here is the reason.

This guy is super marketable in China.

And what they mean when they say "taking inspiration from" is totally ripping them off.

I'm confused, how is this part any different than the way it's been for decades? A lot of these guys can barely read.

Why are you fine with ADs and coaches making millions and not the labor? Are you a commie?

Mainly South Koreans being he's South Korean from Toronto. A ton of those kids are huge basketball fans and nutty sneaker collectors.
It's actually one of the few NIL deals that seems totally legit from a business standpoint and also not really having anything to do with luring him specifically to Florida.

Yep this was how they were supposed to make money.

Yep, so let's pay them millions.

Damn that’s crazy. I guess he could be pretty big in China as the starting PG on a top team attempting to go back to back.
We don’t know what he is yet but we do know Clayton, Richard, and Martin were all good. That gives me reason to believe Todd knows what he’s doing.

because when a group of businesses band together and agree they won’t pay their employees that’s called collusion.
