I just heard on one of the YouTube shows that Louisville doesn't have a President nor an Athletic Director. They're just rolling with interims at both positions.
Is that true?
Bruce is sitting pretty at Auburn, he is the best thing to happen to that athletic program in a long time. He markets the school better than any other person and Auburn is where he'll stay.

I don't get the aubsession from UK. First Cal and now their beat writers can't seem to let what happened Saturday go. My best guess is there's a recruit that is at play but with the way Cal has elite talent waiting for an offer even that doesn't make complete sense. It's odd but in a strange way I'm kind of digging the attention.

You followed basketball when it consisted of white guys shooting set shots and sky hooks. Where half the team was on schalorship so they could play football. I grew up with watching Wooden, Alcindor, Walton, and watched Barkley and Persons at AU and King at Bama. To include Wimp and Sonny. So keep your Hood on and shut up sbout the good ole days and your knowledge of the game

When applying for a new job wouldn't it be good to know, or at least have an idea, who your boss and your boss's boss is or will be? I'm not saying it is a non-starter for negotiations, but combined with everything else going on at UL, it doesn't help at all.

I was around for the Rocket-8, as well as all the other people you named. Coach Eaves(yes, Auburn's greatest) once gave me an Auburn practice football with "API" stamped on it while he and Vince Dooley were in Tuscaloosa visiting my uncle and scouting the state all-star games at Fosters Auditorium.
I was at Madison Square Garden for Alabama's FIRST appearance in the NIT final-four, as well as the majority of the post season NCAA tourney games Alabama played in until 1980. I was a season ticket holder and member of the Tip-off Club that hosted the breakfast meeting/speech during the LAST trip that Coach Adolph Rupp and team made to Tuscaloosa. I was also present at a small, private reception for Coach Rupp after the game. Coach Bryant was there, and they had several cocktails together in a small back room for much of the reception.
I've got a number of old friends who played for both Coach Newton and Wimp, and am in touch with most of them...I could go on...
All this to say that I've been around more college basketball than you've probably ever watched!
Oh yeah! I'm a White guy who tried to guard Wendell Hudson (after he'd retired from the Chi. Bulls) one time during an Independent League basketball game...not good!

Maybe because we actually know what is going on at U of L.
It isn't so much he wouldn't leave Auburn for U of L, it is because he would be crazy to go there NOW. No President, No AD. The hooker scandal followed by the Brian Bowen pay for play AND allegations of NCAA infractions against Mack.
We play Louisville once a year. We play Auburn at least once a year. It makes no difference to UK where he coaches.
Now we have Bama fans hoping against hope it is true because they have the vested interest in him going to Louisville. Because they play him twice a year.

Roosevelt Sanders, legendary Central basketball coach, dies: 'You couldn't ask for a better person'

Roosevelt Sanders, longtime former Central boys basketball coach, died this weekend, Sanders' chief assistant Robey Butler confirmed to the Tuscaloosa News.
Sanders, 84, coached Central to 699 wins, back-to-back AHSAA state championships in 1990 and '91 and four Final Four appearances.
He is in the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame and the namesake of Central's gym.
...................................
"Rose" Sanders was a black man.
I knew him, and followed him when he coached Druid High School (Tuscaloosa's black high school before integration), and afterward when he came to Central H.S.
Rose was my friend, as is Robby Butler
When James Toombs led the nation in scoring at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa in the mid-60s, we'd regularly go over to watch him. (Stillman was a black college)
.....................................
My basketball experience/knowledge isn't limited to race, nor time, Bud!
PS- My best friend has a basketball gym floor named after him over in the Tuscaloosa area.

Everything is speculation at this point. Only a coach truly knows what they want. Everyone can throw their opinions in the ring but if the coaching changes from this past football season has taught us anything, it's to just sit back and wait

You should know, based on your shitty football history.
That would probably work better if I were the one who made a great proclamation about losing coaches to tier two teams.

So basically every coach that UK is threatened by is a candidate?

Down vote away, but I GUARANTEE Bruce will retire at Auburn. Whether or not he wins a NC remains to be seen, but he has literally built Auburn into exactly what he wants and is now enjoying the fruits of his success.
I will second this. Y'all can flame away or down vote all you want. Answer one question though. Why do coaches not quit and leave AU? They may be fired and find other jobs but they don't quit and leave. The ones that get fired wind up coming back to retire in the area. It isn't always about the school or program but the area.
Personally I love the Auburn area. Its just a great place. I must not be alone in that thought either. A long list of coaches never left or came back.
When Malzahn was still around all AU HC's that were still alive other than Bowden (Probaby a good idea to stay away.) lived within 45 minutes of Auburn. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Malzahn ends up living out his retirement on Lake Martin. I would guarantee Chizik will be back when he finishes up round two at UNC. His family stayed here the last time he went up there. Hell Sonny Smith is our color guy for basketball after leaving and coming back.
not many other schools or areas can say that about people they fired. Thanks to all of our buy outs there are some really nice homes on Lake Martin.

You understand that these coaches would be going from teams UK plays every year to a rival UK plays every year, no?

It's actually a tribute to his ability!
Even though he's crookeder than a snake, I respect the guy's coaching/recruiting ability!
