Dominique Yates @RealDYates Source tells me, if Chris Mack is gone as Louisville's coach, here's some names of interest: Kenny Payne Bruce Pearl Will Wade Nate Oats Not saying there's interest from Louisville, but I'm told Pearl "wants it badly." Payne also strong interest.

Pearl seems too old to change jobs, tbh. Wade too controversial.

Why would anyone go coach for shite show white trash Louisville now that the SEC finally cares about basketball?

Isn’t Louisville technically a blue blood in basketball?

But you swore Wade was getting fired.

Much confusion.

Blue blood is a meaningless term to me in this context, but no question Louisville has a historically strong and well known team. Denny Crum days, Pitino teams, etc.

I know UL is still basketball royalty but what a trash school - is there really that much glory to be found there?

If Pearl takes two men and a truck out of Auburn, will they quit being a Basketball School? They become a hockey school then?

Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA are blue bloods. Indiana like Nebraska in football isn't really a blue blood anymore. Louisville has never been a blue blood.

Crum came directly from under John Wooden's wing.

Oates may be looking for a new gig if he loses to Georgia.

From Phillip Marshall:

I have a very solid source who is connected with Louisville basketball. Here is what I have heard: Head coach Chris Mack will be fired on Wednesday. Louisville has significant interest in Bruce Pearl. I have not heard, as one TV guy in Kentucky tweeted, that Pearl "wants it badly." I have heard that efforts to make sure Pearl has no reason to leave Auburn are already under way. That would certainly include a significant raise. My guess - only a guess - is that it would also involve movement toward him getting the separate practice facility he very much wants.
